Certainly not what the OP had in mind when he started this thread but here's a shot (no pun intended) of an Old Taylor Bourbon advertising knife and an Old Taylor Bourbon advertising glass that Scott (TripleF) sent to me. How cool is that to find them both on (what was it Scott?) the same day?

The knife is a Camco.

Here’s a small contribution. A Camco bartender knife and original Walters Brewery brass tag .
Walters Brewery was one of the first in the area . John Walters had a tavern as well where employees had a tab and ended up owing more than they could pay some times. Walters and J Lienenkuegel Brewery were rivals . There baseball games got rather violent according to some old newspaper articles.

So what's the difference between this, "Drinking and Knives" topic,
and the "Knives and Spirits" topic?

Would like to have seen some of those games.

I visited the Leinie's brewery some years ago. I had at the time considered their beers to be my go-to's, but during the tour discovered that they no longer followed the reinheitsgebot and used corn in their beer. Big let down for me.

I have some local pieces, will post when Im home again. Prohibition hit this area particularly hard with our beer culture being cultivated by beer barons with more money than the government. While some areas called the debate a fight between the wets and the drys, here they called it "The Beer Wars"

Whole towns were burnt to the ground, more than once. People died in pitched battles fought openly in the streets. Winneconne and Oshkosh in particular were bloody. Fascinating stuff.

One difference (which may or may not be important depending who's reading them) is that this thread, Drinking and Knives, is in the Traditional Knives From the Old Days sub forum while the Knives and Spirits thread is in the General Knife Discussion sub forum.

I realize that there are duplicate threads throughout, I was merely questioning why some of them are forgotten. I would wager that nearly all collectors have owned a bartender's knife at some point, why did this thread just stop back in 2015? There are many other examples I noted as well, when I perused the old pages.

Ike, I believe the answer to your question is quite simple.
It's the lack of using the search function to see if a particular subject has already been posted or covered.
It's just easier to start a new topic or thread. Then the already existing topic or thread just drifts away.

Based on my observations over 11+ years as a member, often when new members first join, they are eager to show off their knives or think they have a novel idea for a topic and instead of searching around on the forum for an appropriate thread to post them in, they start entirely new threads which end up being duplicates of previously established threads. Then, others jump in and begin posting on the new thread.....and the older thread, which may not have had any new posts for awhile to keep it alive, is forgotten about as all the new traffic is directed to the newer thread.

I like Skips idea, Booze and Blades.
I have never been a drinker of any sort, basically I have been eye witness to what can happen. So I don't drink.
When I started at Diageo 22 years ago and part of my bonus was booze, I had to go booze shopping and then gave it away.
Binnie's Beverage Depot was not in every strip mall in the Chicago area as it is today.
As always long story longer. For the first year or so I called it Binnie's Booze Barn. Hence I like Booze and Blades.
