Just happened to run across this old thread of 3 spring knives, and remembered that I have this Keen Kutter cattle knife that I acquired a while back.

That is a fine looking old knife, OC. I do not have any three spring knives in my collection, unless I have forgot them, which is entirely possible. That one looks like it was made for some real work.

That is a fine looking old knife OC. I have a Camillus 72 that some one turned into a 3 springer. I'll have to dig it out.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My contribution.....
Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is a RANGER, three blades, two tang stamps, 4" closed, three springs, stockman, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "RANGER (over) PROV. U.S.A." The third blade front tang stamp says "PATENT (over) 3,317,996" The shield is NOT original to this pocket knife, which came without a shield. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I'd like to see it, it is a custom rebuild or mod you had done?

Not too recently, this multi tool, scout, pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did turn out to be a keeper. It definitely got added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an Imperial, one blade, four tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener, a can opener, a punch or awl, and a phillips head screwdriver), one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, three springs, multi tool, scout, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with the crown) (over) PROV. R.I." with a vertical "USA" on the right side. The shield says, "BE PREPARED" The main blade has NO half stop. The main blade has NO opening snap. The main blade has NO closing snap. The four tools ALL open, close, and function properly. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

ObsidianEdge your MB knife is a gem.

Here are two Case Tested knives with 3 springs. A 63038 and 93109, both 3 3/8" closed. The 3 springs are necessary to accommodate the extra-long secondary blades.
