How about this seller quiting the shell game. Forget the folder it's obviously a schwank job but I would love to buy one of his knives but it comes down to a credibility issue. Now his fixed blades are starting to get some good money. I'd love to help a guy out that's honestly working to make a quality product. If not then there are plenty of Muela knives that are selling in the range he's seeing on ebay now. You have to wonder why he's not more open about the origin

If it were me I'd post a picture of my shop and offer to sell them for a fixed price as soon as I finished making one. I figure I'll wait until next years crop comes out. Maybe by then he'll see the benefit of having an entire forum trying to buy the best knife he has MADE
CORRECTION:
I stand corrected

I just read some of his Ebay auctions and they are listed as Made in the U.S.A. I missed it before and shot my mouth off

Sorry

Well his knives do mimic Randall's to some degree, I'm bidding on one of his fillet knives right now...if I do win it I'll post a report...

Well guys, I am one of the buyers who purchased one of his knives on eBay. It was shipped DIRECTLY from Pakastan. When I confronted him, what he claimed was that it was made there from parts "imported" from the U. S. When pressed, all he could say was that he sent them the design. He offered to refund my money if I would take down my negative feedback. Later he changed his eBay handle so my feedback is no longer easily found.

Hello I am new here,my name is Rob.I live in Alaska where A guy needs a good knife.
I found RBH Customs a couple days ago while window shopping Randall Made knives on GunBroker. He has one listed there as buy it now for $230.00.So I checked out his web site, and followed the link to his ebay store.Where I quickly placed a $100.00 bid on a #25 Randall made clone.I mean how can you go wrong with a knife that looks that good for $100.00.
I then started searching forums for info.I should have done this first.Because of this thread I starting digging deeper. When you look at his feedback there is none older than Oct of this year.I am not a big ebayer so I dont know much about ebays feedback, but this seemed odd.Every one of discriptions says that he made 4 of these knives and 2 have been sold. Now keep in mind that he has about sixty knives with this same discription. As you can see I was starting to get nervous. When you look at his ended auctions the oldest one is Oct of this year also, again I am not super familiar with ebay. His comments about his feedback also seem odd.Needless to say I was relieved when I was outbid today.I learned a big,but harmless lesson about researching a purchase.Hopefully someone else will to.
Thanks for reading my long winded post; Rob

Welcome to AAPK, Rob. Glad to have you aboard.
A lesson learned at a cost that small is a good one indeed. Now if I could just learn to not be impetuous...
If I were to buy one of those knives (and let me assure you, I'm not), it would be the #25. If you like that pattern, have you considered a similar and for sure made in the USA knife, the old Effingham Blackjack Trail Guide (or the new Michigan made Blackjack 125)?

Thanks for the welcome and yes I am sure there are better makers out there than Hern. I just want to honor and reward the folks who actually make an American made product.
With an update on RBH on eBay, be aware that at least two other sellers are now marketing his knives as American made. I warned sherrylg123 and pay0713 of the situation and both have refused to alter their listing as declaring his knives being made in USA.

I have to give you bad news. Henn is a fraud. I bought a couple of his knives from him on eBay. They came to me DIRECTLLY from Pakistan. When I gave him him negative feedback, he called me and offered to return my money if I withdrew my feedback. I refused and changed his username. As to his rationalization about calling his knives "Made in USA" he said that he "imports" material to Pakistan. When I pressed him he admitted that the only thing imported was his designs (which he copies Randall). Like I said, a fraud.

This is a very interesting post. I couldn't begin to guess at all the money that has been saved from the hands of crooks by AAPK postings such as this.
Here is the quote posted earlier from RHB:
"All this "heated discussion" about my knives. Oh my goodness, they are not stamped
"Made In The USA" on them! Well, the last time I looked, most of the custom knives
being sold are not etched "Made In USA". There is this old AMERICAN saying, "if you
have to defend your position, then you need to examine your position. This is a deep
& complicated concept to understand, so I am not going to try to explain it.
My knives speak for themselves and I refuse to defend my knives or myself. If you like
my knives, which a LOT of people do, then buy them. If you do not like them and
think they are made in India or Haiti or wherever, then do not buy them. There are
quite a few things that I look for when I buy a knife for my collection, where it is
made is not at the top of the list. Quality is at the top of the list. There are a
lot of buyers who think that my knives are of high quality.
My thousands of positive Ebay feedbacks will attest to that. I suppose that I should be flattered that so
many people are talking about my knives, but I do what I do because I love knives, not for kudos. Keep it sharp!" end quote.
I think his "thousands of positive eBay feedbacks" only attest to his unscrupulous business practices and eBay's skewed feedback system. Buyer beware indeed.

There ya go Phil. As usual my bid won't go in until the last 3-4 seconds of the auction. Maybe I'll change my mind between now and then.

I have watched his auctions rather close in the past, they seem pretty sketchy to me = shill bidding??? or at least that is how it seemed when I was bidding last year. I would get out bid and then after the auction ended the knife would get re listed. His feedback seems very odd also.

Rob I have absolutely no doubt the seller is a scoundrel of the highest order. I've followed his offerings for quite some time. I placed a bid because I'd like to see first hand what these "custom made" knives look like up close and in person. Besides he says the one I bid on has 1095 steel. That's good stuff.

I have one of his knives, and it actually is not bad, the fit and finish is nowhere near as nice as my other hand made knives, and the handle drives me crazy - its too big around, and that seems to be a common complaint about his knives, even by the folks who think his stuff is great.
Cant wait to see if you guys get one and what you think of it.

Another thing that seems weird is in his "about me" section on ebay, he states that he wants everyone to know that the recent negative and neutral feedback that received was undeserved, but his feeback is 100% positive ????????

Quote from RBH in Wayne's response, 2 of which really stick in my craw personally:
1. There are quite a few things that I look for when I buy a knife for my collection, where it is

2. "but I do what I do because I love knives, not for kudos".
As to quote 1, I beg to differ Sir, as some collectors like myself do care about where a knife was assembled and made. In fact, it could cut through steel girders but when it comes to knives, not produced in the US, I personally will not buy it. So yes, that is at the "top of the list" for this collector. Futhermore, if a knife maker is too ashamed as it appears this is the case, to divulge where the knife was made, then obviously they are not proud of the country that made it. Additionally, they assume sales will be affected so it seems obvious if the seller tries to "dodge" disclousure of country of origin, they obviously are aware that some may not buy based on that fact alone. Deception by purposeful ommision is the phrase that comes to my mind.
As to qoute 2, Really??? I think he may have mistyped that. I think he meant to say "because I love the money". I would actually respect him if he said "My design but in order to provide you with an affordable knife due to costs, all knives are assembled and made in Pakistan (or China or whatever country)".
Lastly, I do not personally own any custom knives. But correct me if I am wrong, the knives on ebay are not "Custom" since the person whom has his stamp on it did not assemble the knife. I don't give a rats behind whether he designed it or not. I looked at the ebay listing and a couple of identical knives say "***** NOTE: THIS IS ONE AND ONLY KNIFE FOR YEAR 2015 FROM RBH CUSTOM KNIVES,LLC SO DON'T LET ANY KNIFE GET AWAY! *****
Do these look similar???
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RBH-CUSTOM-MADE ... 824wt_1153
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RBH-CUSTOM-MADE ... 824wt_1153
Personally. I would not take a knife from this person if they paid me. No kidding. A knife to some is about the history, origin and the cutler that made it. Purposefully trying to hide one or more of those facts is a huge downer for me. Could find no joy in owning or carrying one of this makers knives personally. To each his own.
My 200 cents. Regards, Jerry
Rob: I know next to nothing about ebay but he has 5 "Revised Feedbacks". Another crazy ebay policy. Reason I have only dabbled there for knive I never found elsewhere. I think I have about 6 or 7 buys in 2 years...

I think he's doing a shill bid process on the knives. Each knife has started with a Mini Max bid that in order to win you have to climb the ladder. All bids are private listings. I wouldn't spend more than $30 on any of them. Actually I wouldn't spend a dime on one. My garage is littered with Paki Bowies that I bought at the local flea. The guy sold me 8 of them for $105. I use them to chop on my palm trees. The top 2 in this pic are from that deal. I know they don't look like Randall clones but they are heavy bushwackers. They each came with a leather sheath too.

Wazu I think you're on target with your suspicions about the shill bidding. The bid I placed was $50. It got snipped away bit by bit till I was outbid by one buck and then suddenly all the bidding ceased. Rest assured I won't bid again.

Never bid on any auction until the last three or four seconds unless you will not be someplace where you can bid at the last minute or you don't really care if you get the item. Examples below.
