I actually prefer the rounded bolsters, but it doesn't matter at all.

Some mammoth showed up this week. Nice little Easy Opener Customized by Muskrat Man Knives. File worked back spring, polished blade, and he rounded the tang corners to make it open easier, as the spring was rather stiff.Single blade slip joint 73 with no embellishments other than the mammoth rehandle.

The photos don't capture the ivory very well, as it has more depth and color than depicted.

I see that GEC is offering a few patterns in "elephant ivory."
I've seen the powderhorn and the castro on their new knife page and Monk pointed out a Whaler at one of the distributor sites.
This must be modern ivory, which I thought was/is illegal vs. mammoth ivory.
I'm wondering how the demand might be for this material vs. mammoth ivory and what anyone's thoughts are on "elephant ivory" and if anyone has more info.

I'm sure that we'll see that the Elephant Ivory will be just as scarce or more so than the Mammoth Ivory...and it's been mentioned on other Blogs that this is what's intended....a beautiful tough to get upscale handle material with very,very limited runs.......I welcome it

And as far as being modern Ivory you're right it's illegal so this would be pre-ban Ivory and I'm sure GEC has the paper work trail to back it up otherwise there would be a knock on their door from some very un-welcomed guests.

I haven't been saving many ivory, but just couldn't help but stash this one....
Nice and barky, but doesn't feel like it is going to fall apart like some I see.
