I don't know either Ken but my blade has the same etching on it as yours and a 35 on the bolster. Maybe I got the very last one? ::shrug::

Ken,there were #35 pcs. made of the #735108 American Elk, during the "'Factory Test Production Run""______ ::tu:: You got a very nice one, with, low serial number ::nod:: ::tu::

I have a 2008,second cut stag,#53 Cuban Stockman,serial #24 of 24 pcs. (Factory Test Production Run )

They made a #53 Cuban Stockman,in American Elk,that was regular production,but only 29 pcs. I have serial#13 of 29 pcs.

Again,that is """A DANDY"" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::tu::

PS. I also have the 08 Muskcrat in American Elk. Marked 48. How many of them were made? Thanks Smoke

Hey Smoke___you can't believe the blade etch,on the GEC's____ we,just have to go to the prodution total page,on their web. site___the blade etch, says 1 of 50,but only, 29pcs. were made (all serialized)_______on your 53M Muskrat, there were 50pcs.serialized and 63 pcs, without serial numbers ::tu:: __hope this ""helped "" a little__??????? Monk ::tu:: scroll down the page to the Great Eastern Totals *****

Ken, that is a beautiful knife. I know I, and I'm sure several other AAPK members were eyeballin' that baby. I don't think you paid too much at all. They won't be makin' any more of 'em, so, it's like waterfront property... That's all there is... and there ain't no more! So I say... ::tu:: ::tu:: for Justold52!!!!

Now I am very happy just to get this one and not to out bid any AAPKs on it.... ::ds::

She came today. WOW she is worth all I paid for her.

Thanks you all for helping me understand the Factroy Run stuff... ::tu::

While rummaging around in the safe I found a pair of Elk's that I'd forgot about, 23 Great Eastern made in 2008.

I wish they would make some with a single clip blade..... ::nod::

Sure Ken! How about a 721111 lined bolster, one of seven made in 2011, and a 720111, one of six.

I was very fortunate to snap these up from KSF when they came out! ::super_happy:: I had no idea they were so scarce at the time, and apparently, neither did Derek. ::shrug:: I'm sure GEC will be making more of the lined bolster 72 elks in the future! ::pray::

:) Thanks guys... does anyone know about the letter on the boxes . what e and d stands for ?.... ::shrug::

Re: American Elk GEC

I think the letters on them are just a way to keep track of the un-serialized knives.
Some of the dealers add the letter to the end of the Item# in thier stores so they send the actual
knife you bought.......and don't have to go look again. I think thats the main reason anyway.

.....such as "Item#: 488212EC-AE-C" from Ken's store.
