The next several figures show examples of Kraeuter wire-cutting pliers, believed to have been made as fence-cutters for the military in the first World War.

Fig. 70 shows a pair of Kraeuter "US" 8 inch fence-cutting pliers, with markings "Kraeuter & Co. Inc." and "Newark, N.J." plus "Pat. Pend." forged into the handle. The forged-in letters "U" and "S" are also visible at the left.

The overall length is 7.9 inches, and the finish is plain steel.

The pliers have serrated cutting edges placed close to the pivot pin for leverage. "

Impressive pile, Scott!

Decided to do some lunchtime shopping in the antique shops on King St and found this stag Joseph Rodgers pen knife. 3 1/4" with about a 1/4" blade loss on the main blade. Anyone know when this one was made? Goins says sometime between 1837 & 1901. Not a bad find for $40 I thought.

Got this on a whim. I got a thing for penknives!
The spring stands a bit proud at both ends. Got this because it's a Western. And check out that blade!
It's got some blade wiggle.

Got this for the delicious looking scales! Soaked it in mineral oil for a bit and it snaps and has no blade wiggle. I LOVE it!

Dave, on that Ulster I can see some writing on the front handle Honey Bee... can`t make out the rest Also it still has the Ulster blade etch.

Very cool Ulster! Really nice scales.

It obviously has never been sharpened. Because I've ceramic and ceramic it and still no edge.

And I got it for what I think is a STEAL!

Found this little Fish Knife at a yard sale Saturday, on my street for 50 cents. Pretty good price for a knife with "mother of plastic" scales!
