It is a fun hobby and I made most of them at work although now since I’m retired I make em at home.

These are simply beautiful knives. Amazing job on these. The defensive knife or dagger is very interesting with the way you shaped the blade and the skull crusher pommel. What great stag you found to use on these. Amazing.Oledadsknives wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 3:18 pm Theses are a few of the fixed blades I’ve made over the years. Garry, I am so envious. I recognized the design immediately when I saw this. This is a first for me too. Lum had some amazing designs. That is one to treasure.
Thanks sharpnshiny! That dagger I made with 3 leftover pieces of Damascus welded together. That pommel is threaded and the whole knife will come apart. Mostly SMKW stag.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 10:41 amThese are simply beautiful knives. Amazing job on these. This group seems to have a jungle-military theme to them Garry, am I correct?
Thanks, Garry! Someday there will be a Becker riding on my hip.
I like that one, Jimbo!Oledadsknives wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 7:26 pm That dagger I made with 3 leftover pieces of Damascus welded together.
Thanks Dan! Thats the 1st one most people like. My grandson in the marines told me when he was in high school he wants that one. He will get it for sure.Dan In MI wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 2:40 pmThanks, Garry! Someday there will be a Becker riding on my hip.

Thank you, Garry, I appreciate hearing the history.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 3:54 am I understand your impression Marco. Mr. Becker's designs were not explicitly for military purposes tho they could serve in those functions. Primarily, they were for camping and general outdoor purposes. They have something of a cult following. They are very rugged and highly effective patterns. Ethan Becker was a life-long outdoorsman. Today his knives are made by Ka-Bar in their NY plant.
Cool knife, and the backstory of the wood and steel is even better.garddogg56 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:22 pm This one was made from a railroad spike with an”H” designate which is hardened for corners. The wood scale are from an old ship that was in a bay in Maine for over150 years.
