Looks like ebony handles. Stamp on wood might read:

Lookie at this stud! Usually when you see the ugly handle sticking out of the sheath you expect the blade to be worse......not in this case.....it looks to have very light use!

Great find Scott...that one's got some definite personality! I wonder how the previous owner managed to jack up the handle like that. ..never seen one with that kind of wear on it. Went thru a dry spell the past couple weeks.... 
and couldn't find a knife....but not today!

Picked up these 2 today.
The electricians knife is a Schrade Walden (1946 - 1973) #204. I couldn't resist the wood scales..

I found this one at a garage sale this morning for the cost of an Egg McMuffin. I haven't done a thing to it yet. A little WD40 and five minutes on my buffer and it will be like new. It's rock solid
