I can't find any type of identification.....and yes they are tapered.

I was amazed to see that Red handled shell knife wasn't an Imperial when I opened the main blade....

Went to an estate sale this morning and found this Camillus. Normally I pass on modern knives, but yesterday I had a short conversation with Jerry (jerryd6818) and it made me nostalgic for a trapper.

That knife reminds me of the Johnny Preston hit song from the late 1950s, "Running Bear".

Pretty cool. It appears to have an emblem reminiscent of the American Wildlife series only from the early 2000 wood handle series with brass bolsters (that was the numbered series, #2--#12).

I like the shield too, Phil. Finding a nice trapper only a day after getting a yen for one was fortunate, but add in that shield and I can only assume the knife gods must be smiling down on me.

Antique store find. Found it last weekend but didn't want to pay the price.

Stewed all week.

Found myself back at the antique store today and dag nabit look what happened. Remington R383 equal end jack with some dang good looking jigged bone.

Gonna retire the Case 63046 Whittler from the EDC for a while to carry this one.

Anyone have any idea as to year of manufacture?

Rex she is a beauty..I made my run today and gut me a Cammillus 91 with rat tail bolsters my first congress..then a sweet Case 6235 1/2 nine dot in red bone she will see lots of pocket time.

Really nice looking knives, garddogg.
