A new "Short-line" #23 to add the stash

A really like the #23 pattern, so now I am on the hunt for #23s (along with #10s and #11s).
And of course, always on the lookout for "Short-lines"
The new bone and the work by Jeff sure make that old 23 look nice ! The 23 is a great size and a very solid knife to use . Believe the first year of the short line stamp is 1946 , prior to that I believe they are called an equal end ( or cigar ) pattern IIRC .
Stay cool out there G Dog .

Thanks J.P.!

I have come to love the #23 and now I am also admiring the #10 & 11

Something I scrap old washing machines and I need to cut that thick 220 cord off the machine and I may only have my #23 on me and that big 'Ol blade gets the job done

Found me another Short-Line...might need a little help on this one. I think I have the answer but .....4 blade no model numbers, I believe I seen on one of the early catalogs about being an army-navy knife around WWII. I am going off memory and last night wash the 4th...I might have had one too many Angels Envy.

Very nice camp knife!

...

...I believe it would be a #99 (The main blade is a little different on the #96)

that being said...

... I know the LEAST of anyone on this site about all the fine details and what not and so forth, etc. etc.

Thanks GDog
The 99 in the 1946 catalog has a punch instead of the pen blade like on mine, now over here
https://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/H ... -1945s.pdf second to last page dated 5/13/1945 of one like mine they have numbered 14325 but the ink has ran on it can't see what handles it says. Just trying to find some info on this little beauty

This is military specification. Model No. 14Q38. Judging by the tang stamp and the 2-piece can opener, it was made in the late 40s.
I have the same one (even two

).

Vits' example is amazingly clean

that is a beautiful knife

I use the punch a lot on my scout knives ... but I prefer the extra pen knife blade

I have a couple of Boker USAs that have the extra pen knife blades.

I like an extra sharp blade in case of emergency

...

However.

I get a lot use from the punch (

and the bottle opener

) I always seem to be punching a hole in a new/old belt or dog collar or something like that...

So...

maybe I need to start carrying 2 scout knives on me at all times...

Recently, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It is now my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread and to be added to my collection. It is a CAMILLUS 72 (short line), FIRST GENERATION, three blades, two tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, swelled center, "whittler" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "CAMILLUS (over) NEW YORK (over) USA" The main blade back tang stamp says "72", the pattern number. It is in VERY GOOD+ condition. I gave the blades a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).

the main blades are worn down quite a bit, looks like yours has lot's of life left!

Good work!
