Very cool old labels!

Good stuff.I have a folding hunter, stamped Sterling in an arch, with L G H Co in a line under it.I''ve been told it is Logan Gregg Hardware Co.from Pittsburgh.It has Daniel Boone etch in script that is light and doesn't't show up in photo has well as the stamp.It is old.

Peanut that is sweet. One I don't have. Here is an old Case razor strop. Pretty cool. I like related knife stuff almost more than knives

Nice old knife PA. I picked up a couple of those over the last couple of months which I really like. The one has a broken secondary blade but I don't really think that it detracts from the knife's appearance, value yes, but appearance no. I bought it because I loved the shape and form of the master. Another I bought for the same reason. The main is a little short but the blade still retains it's character. Hope you don't mind if I post them.

Are you sure that's not a French knife? All I can read on it is "MERDE".

I think it reads "Herder".

Yup that pearl knife is a Herder, stamped PHILA on the back. Most likely a German made knife. I love the cuticle blade with the sweeping curve.

Just pick this up from eBay. This is pre Cutlery Tariff, Pennsylvania Knife Co. most likely made in Germany from the construction style. I am still investigating the A 1 stamp. I know some other companies that used this and suspect a relationship but I have yet to determine for sure.
I was surprised how cheap it sold for. Although not everyone is crazy about PA Knives like me. It is still tight and snaps. For $29 you can't go wrong with that. Genuine pearl and milled liners. They knew how to dress em up back then. Now days they just slap some lipstick on them and send out to the knife mongers.

I have been lurking for quite sometime. Just sitting back and watching from the outside in. Although I no longer own my collection, knives will always be a part of who I am. I feel this thread is so valuable to any collector of vintage knives that I hated to see it get lost in the archives. I decided to revive it for those that aren't familiar with the tremendous amount of history it has to provide. I hope you enjoy seeing it again.

The stamp is faint, but I believe it says Baldwin. The Tidioute stamp is clear. Under the Baldwin stamp and mostly hidden by the bolster it has a number stamped. It is very difficult to see, but seems to show 20 and maybe more numbers to the left of the 2. The picture shows a portion of the 0.

I would be grateful to learn more about this knife and would appreciate comments. It is very well made - great snap, half stop on the small blade, and no play in the blades. It is 3 5/8" long closed.

This thread is near and dear to my passion for knives. Being no one else has commented I will let you know that you have a fine example of a Baldwin Tidioute. As for history, I could go on and on but the best source would be the book I wrote a few years ago about it. TIDIOUTE and Town with and Edge. Ebay has tons at good prices. But just a search about BALDWIN will reveal a bunch of info. LOVE the bone on that knife. LOOKS good

Got this pretty Wolfertz at the Easton show this weekend. It's 3 3/8 long closed. Are the covers waterfall celluloid? Its does have an etch on the master "ALLENTOWN". I may carry this for a bit.

"Onyx", I think, not waterfall.

I cannot make your knife move, obviously, but waterfall seems to "move" when tilted in the light.
