That may have been made by Anton Wingen. Here is a similar model by them.Biggest difference is the lack of a false edge on the AW.

A couple of unusual Taylor-Seto knives.First is a combination folder/fixed blade and the other is a fixed blade that folds into a push dagger. Both are 1980's era knives when they were made in Seki City.

And then we have your basic,"All purpose knife" ;at least that is what it says on the blade. The crossguard is an awl on one side and a straight slot screwdriver on the other.
Then we have aJ.A.Hellberg knife with carved ebony handle.
Next is a John Russell knife stamped Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Boston;a large sporting goods store with carved horn handle.
Next is a Union Cutlery Co knife with an almost identical handle.
Last is a Parker Edwards Randall Gilbraith limited edition hunter with stag scales.

Did not imply that it was a fake;only that it may have been made by Anton Wingen for Hofftirz. They do not make knives that I am aware of but rather purchase what they need from others with their name affixed.

Isn't that what is called a "thistle" handle?

Yes it is Jerry.Up until I got the Union Cutlery Co Dardevle it was the only knife I had with such a handle. I remember going into Iver Johnson's place in Boston when I was a kid of maybe 15 or 16.What a marvelous place!
Sort of like going to Cabela's;they have on of the largest stores about 15 miles from me in Dundee Michigan.I spent nearly a whole day just admiring their mini-museum and the wildlife display complete with huge indoor "mountain" and streams. Their knife department is no slouch either;a lot of customs as well as production knives.

That's great! that would make it 1920's-1940's. you just don't see them in that condition with the original box very often. That set is definitely a keeper!
