PACKLEADER. If it is a New York Knife CO. knife it will be stamped on the pile side tang. This is off the top of my head, so results may vary.

Has edgy46 said,if it has New York Knife on the back of the tang, then NYKC.If not it is an Imperial.
At the least it had been rehandled with abalone.

Here's a stag knife from Charles "Chuko" Lamb's collection that I was able to buy from his son. I suspect other members here were able to buy NYK knives from him as well, so maybe those will start showing up here. (Not my photo, because it's in focus and actually shows what the knife looks like.)

Thanks for the nice comments. I knew Charles had some great knives but I had no idea he had so many.

I knew Charles for years and he was a great guy so when he passed a few years ago all that knew him where and still are sad he's gone. He had a love of pearl knives, Orange Blossoms and lobsters mostly. He also collected NYK Co knives plus some Custom folders among others. He came to AZ in 2016, I think that was the year, and we met and chatted about knives for a couple of hours. We had a nice time with show and tell!! Through the years I sold him a few knives mostly NYK's. When he passed I was able to buy a few back from his son.

In the pictures the Scimitar knife was one as was the etched pearl whittler. The 5 blade I did not sell to Charles but was very lucky to have gotten it.

The picture with the 2 Navy knives. The one that is marked NYK I sold to Charles and was also able to get back. It's twin is marked OVB and is also a NYK Co made knife. Thanks to Llyod for helping me get the twin!!

Tanks guys, yes that Scimitar is a special knife. Still can’t believe I let that go before!

Mark Zaleski has a pearl one that was presented to a Masonic Grand Master that started the Shriners Hospitals. It is engraved with all the info etc.on it.
