All About Pocket Knives

Thanks Treefarmer, I found Jerry's tutorial and it worked, this fool phone is smarter than me. I posted a couple of new pickups yesterday that didn't turn out very good, like to never have got them post . I'll keep trying.

Bighomer - that is a nice photo of a tray of Queens. The phone must be coming along.

Charlie - I like that knife and the background. I have a stack of those books myself. A few years back I was visiting someone and I noticed a shelf of those books on the other end of the room. I mentioned to my host that he must like Zane Grey and he looked at me in astonishment and asked "Can you really see the name on those books from here?" He did not realize how unique those covers are.

Mel - I'm originally from Arizona and my father was a big fan of Zane Grey. I have hiked and fished the same territory up on the Mogollon Rim that Zane Grey frequented. When my Dad passed the complete set of books that I read as a boy from my Dad's library came to me. When a fellow collector gave me the opportunity to purchase the Zane Grey endorsed Ka-Bar fishing knife.......I jumped on it. So now my sons will inherit their Grandfather's books and the knife as well.

Mel I don't know if the phone is coming or going, but i reckon I've read every book that Z. Grey wrote and I have good many of his paperbacks and I have about all of La mour's books. I consider myself a big fan of both as well as many more authors.

Iv'e been collectin' fishing tackle for 30 years or more, the last 10 years or so Iv'e been focused on home made/folk art stuff. Until recently the knives have been a sidelight. I took this pic a couple of years ago. The guy in the rowboat is my grampa, that's his case XX. The glasses are his, and he made the 3 spoons hanging on the front of the tin box. The box was made by his son in law- my dad, in shop class.

I've got some old lures knocking around here somewhere.

Bruce - that photo of the fishing stuff is very good. The gear with memories is the best. I do not collect fishing gear, but I have accumulated a bit. How about the corncob pipe: where did it come from? When I was a kid I used to smoke rabbit tobacco out of a home made pipe kind of like that.

Thanks guys. Joe dig out your old tackle and display it. I think it looks great anywhere. I keep tellin' my wife I've had some of it longer than I've had her, but it still aint comin' in the livin' room. I might be able to help with IDs if you send pics.
Mel; What's rabbit tobacco? As for the pipe, not sure where it came from. I think my mom found it in the bottom of a box or in the back of a drawer.
