A few I picked up in last week or so. First is a SLK from Jeff that is high polish carbon steel with very well done yellow liners. Second is a custom from R.C Knipstein out of Arlington Texas Fit and Finish has been taken to the next level.

Next a local maker Larry Withrow looks like it has been used very little but still has makers grind on it, and a couple I pick up from Jeff.

My first fixed blade in a small forever. I've wanted a Nessmuk for years & I finally took the plunge. It was the blade profile that had me so infatuated.

I’m not much of a fixed blade guy, I usually wear overalls off work so no belt, but I do wear Dickies as my uniform at the shop so I bought this one. It’s a Cudeman Sanabria II. 6.25” and even though the handle is a little small, with the jimping on the spine of the blade it’s pretty comfortable. Jerry, I almost went with that Condor Nessmuk instead of this but decided to try this one.

Looks like it should do the job.

I’ve liked it so far, no heavy work with it but a nice size to be able to wear and still get in and out of cars.

I purchased this Buck custom 976 dagger(on behalf of a friend who doesn’t internet much) from AAPK user Mudflatdan a while back, but it was missing a sheath. A trip to a local saddle maker/leather worker and my friend now has a nice Buck dagger to carry.

Some very nice knives there but that Camillus is really an eye catcher. ::tu::

Thanks Ken.

The Camillus Trail Blazer was a civilian version of the military fighting knife sold in the PX, and to the public. From the research I did I learned that supposedly the ones sold in the PX system came with a black sheath and those sold on the open market came with a brown sheath like mine. A friend of mine who served in the Marine Corpse has one that he purchased in the PX at Quantico in the '70s and it is the same knife with a black leather sheath. You don't see many of them around, I was lucky to find this one in near mint condition.

My newest Bowie, A Bear & Sons American Bowie with Stag Handles.
I absolutely love the handles but I'm a little disappointed with the grind lines on the blade.

Fresh out of the Mail box!
A stag handled Linder Jagdnicker. Wonderful fit & finish! Exponentially better quality than the Bear & Sons bowie that I posted this morning.

My grandmother cleaned out her closet, and handed me a WWII era USN MKII that I had found in a garden shed as a kid. I honestly thought it had gotten thrown away at some point.

I did dumb, and apparently whatever I used to try to remove the rust probably also removed the tang stamps. I was 13 and dumb... I think it was a Pal? but I'm not sure anymore due to my own preteen stupidity. I later discovered super-fine steel wool and WD-40 works wonders.

It doesn't seem as bad as I remembered, other than the screwups related to using a Dremel for rust removal. Can it be salvaged? Or should I leave it as-is for posterity?

If I do decide to take the pommel off, I am looking three options for the broken guard. First of all, I am just going to use it, and then flip it around so that the part that isn't broke shields my finger from the blade. The second is to use the one that comes in Kabar's kit if it fits a non-Kabar MKII (I understand that WWII examples are MUCH different from the 1970s and later civilian models) so that it will snap in to the polymer sheath I use for my other Kabar variants (one Camillus, one Ontario). Third is to find a correct guard.
