I have a pretty good variety of fixed blade knives because I'm goofy enough to buy 'em even though I already have a knife for every occasion.

That sharpfinger on the bottom right was my go to for a long time [ all the 80's ] . I lost it in the woods behind my house for 6 months or so , only to find it right off a deer trail I hiked , which is where the pitting came from on it . Yeah , I can just look at it and see people places and things from way back

I very much like a sharp finger styled pattern . Ive retired my old one and a few years ago got ahold of a W. Dupree " sharp Finger " in 1080 . Its one I carry on my property . I find sharp fingers to be versatile as heck . I can get most things accomplished with one . Im not familiar with the knife maker but its easily one of my favorites . If I came across another , Id buy it in a heartbeat

Well Ruffingold, as the other guys on here will tell you, I have a soft spot for the Sharpfinger pattern.

Now that is a focused collection. I think that pattern goes well with the good looking Scrimshaw, Charlie.

I'm always on the look-out for sharpfinger patterns. Any Schrade Scrimshaws that I don't already have and any made by other cutlers. The Schrade in the bottom left corner of my pic is the one I've carried many times. The Bark River is a "First Production Run" and I think I want to keep it in mint condition buuuuuuut.....it just keeps yelling at me to take it out and use it. The other makers represented are Bear & Son / Bear MGC, Camillus, and United Boker. I'd love to see other American cutlers offer this pattern in their line of products.

It's a 1990 Case XX Rio Grande camp knife. It's a large knife at 15" OAL.

One just sold on ebay for $270 which I honestly thought was cheap. I figured it would be $350 at least. It was a 1990 also.

I was very disappointed when mine came. The handle is too short, even for my small hands.

Mine just came today after a delay I do like it... HOWEVER... The handle is too short for my hand, it needs another inch or so maybe even 1/2" would do. I like the smaller size of the blade as a carry knife but the handle needs to BE longer.

The Remington 700, RH-51 has arrived. Mine was late arriving. It took 11 days to arrive from the day ordered. I waited about 8 days then I finally emailed them and got this return message;

I am sorry for the delay in your receiving your order. When I tracked your order it states your order should be delivered on Monday, August 1st. Thank you for your understanding and business. Please let us know if we can be of assistance in the future.

Glad you got it! Tomorrow will mark exactly two weeks that it shows delivered, UPS claiming that it was delivered and not responsible

My Remington knife was delivered to my doorstep about an hour ago from a neighbor a street over.
No explanation, just said that it was dropped off by mistake at his address and sorry it took so long to bring it back

Well, overall I'm pleased with my purchase other than the delivery screw up... I mean for 66 bucks it was a pretty good deal.
Opened right out the box there were a few cosmetic issues, probably from storage.
With that said I was able to mostly polish out the brass but there's still a couple of speckles that remain.
I do agree with the lack of handle room, my hand is right up against the guard.... but as mentioned prior it is balanced well and I really like the beautiful walnut handles with the R700 laser engraving
Thanks again for the heads up on the deal, for my first Bowie I'm good with it!

The one you asked about is a Schrade Federal Duck Stamp 15th Anniversary Edition pictured below. The one above it is a Camillus that was customized by Orvet.

This is a rams horn handled Bowie from the Bear MGC days, 2001. If Bear & Son did those Remingtons as well as this you guys have solid knives.

This is one knarly stag defense knife from way back. Original sheath comes with it.

I found this Fiskars Puukko for $22, and couldn't pass it up.

I'd been looking at a Mora Garberg as my woods/farm knife, but I like this one so much better. However, I'm torn. They are not at all common in the US (they made tons of fillet knives for Normark, and later under their own name, but the Puukkos aren't common here). I think this one most likely dates from the '70s and '80s; but the plastic-handle offerings started in the '60s.

I love the ergonomics. It's fairly lightweight, and seems well-balanced.
The blade is just as thick as the Mora Basic and Companion (non-HD) models I own--so at least an eighth of an inch thick.
I presume this means it's a stick tang?
Normally, I don't focus on sheaths, but this one is so well designed.
The belt loop features a dangler. I tried it out earlier doing some work with the UTV, and it didn't hang up nearly as bad as my standard leather sheaths for my American-made knives, or the hard plastic Mora sheaths. It also drops low enough below my barn jacket and work coats to where getting at it to open a feed sack or cut baler twine shouldn't be an issue as it was with other fixed blades this past winter.
Like most Scandanavian knives, there is a button attachment.
Note the red plastic liner, which makes me think it's newer, as it seems to be polyethylene like others I have.
The knife hadn't been used apparently in years. There was verdigris on everything, and the edge needed some cleaning up (it doesn't seem to have been used heavily), but the one small issue I found was this small cut on the back of the sheath.
I will not be beating the crap out of it like I do a $10 Mora Basic, but it will be seeing a lot of use--to cut only. Heck, I think this may end up also being my actual hunting knife if I decide to go through with getting my deer license this year.
