Q - exquisite Swayback!

Redrider - very nice Teardrop.

Since Kevin and Q posted some great stag, I will try to follow up with a stag Schatt & Morgan. As with the knife I posted last week, this blade is kind of a marginal Wharncliffe. The knife is a bit unusual inside the blade well.

This Queen Oar Carver has 2 sort of mini Wharncliffe blades on a canoe frame.

I've got this Browne & Pharr to show off. - 3 5/8" closed.

There are four blades to be sure but the blade on the right in vertical position is the only one I would call a Wharncliffe.

That is another unusual knife and also very cool. Now, if it had four(4) Wharncliffe blades ... it might be too perfect to exist in this material world.

My contribution for today is a Case Classic 30055 from 1994. Celluloid handles ... outgassing. I just got this off the Bay and now I need to send it off for rehandling.

This Case Prime XX Stag TB51117 is also a recent eBay acquisition and the newest addition to my small but growing Case Swayback collection.

I love those 55 pattern Case Classics and look forward to seeing it after you get her rehandled.

And BTW, thanks for posting that beautiful Schatt & Morgan Stag Congress Whittler last week. Although I would agree it's not a true Wharncliffe, it did remind me that I had one buried somewhere in the safe and had never noticed if it had the engraving on the inside of the liners. So, I dug it out a few days later and it had the same cool engraving. I've probably had the knife for a couple of years and never noticed this unique quality, so I appreciate you showing and pointing that out.

Thanks, Kevin. I have had my S&M for about ten years: it was one of the first knives I bought when I discovered that Whittlers referred to a pattern, not just to any knife used to whittle. I always liked the engraved liners: seeing them is like finding a tiny secret garden hidden away in larger garden.

Beauties all That Rattlesnake etched Antique Bone is one of Case's most interesting handles IMHO and that Stag Northwoods is next level cool

Love that Whittler pattern, Mel I've never seen one with a pink celluloid handle, but I like it. Shame about the outgassing. I have owned a few of the same Case Classics Whittler pattern but with bone handles and they all had spotting/rusting/corrosion issues on the blades and bolsters. I believe it was due to the type of steel Queen used and my ignorance about how to properly protect it for storage in my climate. I wish I still had them now that I've learned how. Oh well, live and learn I, too, will be interested to see yours after you've replaced the celluloid (some nice Mammoth Ivory would look super on that knife )

So, this is kind of funny.....I decided to close out WW this week by showing my Case Swayback family (minus one that's stuck in transit somewhere in VA due to the heavy snowfall). I wanted to arrange them into a pinwheel design but when I looked at the photo, I noticed I had inadvertently created a different and possibly offensive or disturbing symbol Once I saw it, I could not unsee it Crazy, but believe me, the arrangement is supposed to represent a pinwheel and nothing more

Great looking knives Q. I wouldn't worry about any symbolism. Before the Nazis adopted it, it was a symbol used in lots of native American weavings. And I've seen it on a few pre WW2 good luck tokens.

Great displays everyone - especially like the assortment of swaybacks Q ... the single blade versions are so nice
