Right on John! There are three cherries in there but they are hard to see in my picture.

It was a good night. 👍

Stolat!!

Of course one must refresh the glass for each photo attempt. This must have taken 5 or 6 shots to get it right. ::tu::

It’s still not right. Maybe give it a couple more tries.

Cool knife too. I’m diggin’ the Ace of Spades shield and the dual nail nicks with the easy open feature. Anybody that has trouble opening that blade probably shouldn’t own a folder. ::nod::

One of the nearby liquor stores is holding this awesome raffle. There will be 3 winners and the prizes are as follows:

$1,000 in cash
4 high end bottles of bourbon
A whiskey barrel stuffed full with 50 bottles of various whiskeys

The first two winners take their pick and the third winner takes what’s left. I would take the 4 high end bottles. I looked up the two listed on the ticket stub and it looks like they run about $450 - $1,000 each depending on where you buy them. I have never had whiskey that expensive but I would love to try some. Especially for a $10 investment.

The GEC #71 was a gift from our very own Steve Warden.

That’s a pretty good one. How do you like it?

I also bought a bottle of their Rye but it turned me off of Rye whiskey. Some time later I tried a different Rye and my opinion changed. I like Rye nowadays but I’m picky about it.

I did like the Bourbon in your picture though. Tastes good and doesn’t break the bank. ::tu::

When I was looking for a Preakness cocktail, I found a Black-Eyed Susan and it called for Rye whiskey. I picked up a bottle of Tin Cup, it worked very nicely. 🥃

Thanks, John. I looked it up and I will have to give Tin Cup a try. Anything made with Rocky Mountain water always catches my attention.

In the late 1980’s I took a stroll up the Long’s Peak trail near Estes Park, Colorado. Took me 6 hours to reach Chasm Lake at the base of the peak and about 2.5 hours to walk back down.

On my way up when I was still below the treeline I stopped at a clear running stream. I emptied my canteen of the tap water and refilled it with water from that stream. Man, I gotta tell ya, that freshly melted snow was so cold and so very, very good standing on that mountainside. It was a religious experience if there ever was one.

Whether the “Rocky Mountain Water” is a gimmick or not, beverages that make that claim always make me think of that day. Silly, I know but it’s my thing.

The Benchmade is my edc. I get some strange looks when I whip it out to cut a tough steak at some high society fund raising event.

It’s always a little bit sad when I pour the last glass of one of my all time favorites but something tells me that the sadness isn’t gonna last very long.
