Here is a recent purchase. Marco... did not get around to a Zero just yet. I've wanted a Piccolo for a long time and spotted this and grabbed it. I can carry it in my state without drawing the ire or penalty of law enforcement. IMO the Piccolo is a solid and excellent little knife. It fires nice and hard, locks up tight and has great fit and finish. Gonna grab a Zero pretty soon

Lighter is nice!

Cool "Pic", QGL, I've admired those for sometime, but would have trouble getting one past Customs.
I imagine them as hard firing feel good in your hand knives.

I got this beautiful knife just before New Year, but am only posting it now due to circumstances beyond my control!
It's a 10" linerlock D/A auto made by Matt Diskin who is also the designer of the Kershaw Launch 8 auto and many others.
This stunning knife features a 5mm unknown steel needle-point blade with ambi-studs for dual action swedge and engraved "DISKIN", entirely Titanium body with genuine abalone button, screw construction, SS liners, 5mm removeable spring, and file-worked spine.
It's nice and heavy at about 9 oz.'s and only the cutting edge came sharp.
The action is crisp and hard and the 1-hand closing is silky-smooth.
The fit n' finish is among the finest I've seen to date.
I was only able to successfully receive my new Grail knife with the help of a very good friend who is a member but wishes to remain anonymous, but you know who you are!
The first 3 pictures are from off-site since I didn't want to rely on my own usual pictures to show off it's beauty, but I tossed in a couple of mine anyway just as proof I have the knife! lol!

That sure looks like an excellent knife Marco!! Looks well engineered and made from excellent materials. Love the file work too.

Here is one more. I believe its a Taiwan knife from the 90s. Got it in a box of folders. It is an ANGRY little green knife. It fires very hard with a loud WHACK! It really startles people. Blade steel is good. Handle material is decent enough. Its built well, sits deep and centered. Its just a fun little knife. No safety though and I sure wouldn't want this going off in my pocket.

Yep, those are clones of the Pro-Tech Godfather stiletto, QGL, and my understanding is they're great little knives. I almost ordered one awhile back, but I was having my knives seized by Customs at the time so I held off.
I wouldn't worry too much regarding it firing in your pocket, since the button is somewhat recessed the chances of that happening are reduced a bunch, so you're all good!

Absolutely Marco! Here is another one. This is a rare Challenge Cut Co Fly Lock double. Mind you this is not the knife to take when expecting trouble though it is quite cool. It measures 3 3/8" closed. One of the blades is part file. My understanding is automatic knives in the US in the early days were at lease in part marketed as for ladies. This is an example of one. Knife is in amazing condition considering it is at least 100 years old. Great tortoise shell look celluloid which has held up great over the years! No wobble in either blade and never sharpened. Just a cool period piece.

I am a dedicated 1-blade guy, QGL, so your knife isn't my style, but with that being said, that knife is as cool as the other side of my pillow!
Just cuz a certain knife isn't my particular taste doesn't mean I don't appreciate it for what it is, and that little beauty that's in fabulous shape for being over 100 yrs. deserves appreciation.
I had read the same thing about early autos being marketed for the ladies, if I remember correctly it had to do with them having a small convenient knife for cutting sewing threads or similar such duties, who knows, but I can see your knife being in that category.

Tks Madmarco! I think you are right about ladies needing a knife for their tasks. I believe it is also that they needed a knife that wouldn't break their finger nails and an auto fit the bill.

I am with you and am primarily a single blade guy, though I've developed quite an appreciation of vintage knives in all of their forms. Over time, I've handled quite a few old knives a lot which are manual. It amazes me that they are still around today and appreciate them.

When I handle an antique knife, I think about the time period, the craftsmen who built it and the person who used it in whatever they were dedicated to doing. Maybe they were a rancher, ran a store, worked in a factory building cars or in this case, a lady taking care of business and looking out for her family. That knife was their tool every day. Many of the old folders are worn and some have broken blades, but they have a story and its really cool that they exist here in 2024. They also show craftsmanship that we don't often see today. I enjoy every one of them and am fortunate to hold those knives.

That Fly Lock sure held up well. I just wish it could talk and tell the story about the person who used it in their life.

Glad you are feeling better MadMarco. and going towards full recoup at a good pace.

Here is a 13" transitional. Its only stamp is Rostfrei. Beautiful dark horn scales and has great heft. Fat heavy blade, fires HARD and smooth as butter. I love everything about this knife. Some of the modern knives sure are cool, but there is just something about the vintage builds like this one that will never be matched.

I agree totally. They make you reach for your wallet.

I also totally agree, QGL, what you have there is one cool, beautiful, old school Italian stiletto that simply oozes class and culture, a true gangster's knife, IMO!

One of the nicest Italian's I've seen, nice catch man!
The imported Italian olive oil is a nice touch, too!

Tks MadMarco! It sure is an enjoyable knife. Glad you liked the olive oil in the picture too. Spaghetti sauce seemed trite. I made a light box with which to create better images, and started adding in various props to enhance the pictures. I did however make the light box a bit too small and am often cutting slices in the side diffuser material, which is just heavy white tissue. Any knife bigger than 8 inches is a problem with the box. The transitional is simply way too large. Imma gonna make a new light box but larger though. Will add more pics soon.
