This "72" variation arrived yesterday. A Schrade 863 (SCHRADE WALDEN), CRAFTSMAN, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knife. This is my first and only, so far, Schrade 863 with a CRAFTSMAN shield. It is also my first and only, so far, CRAFTSMAN pocket knife that has a SCHRADE "863" tang stamp and not a CRAFTSMAN "9494" tang stamp. It received a minor, gentle cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. Sorry about the picture quality, my camera is falling apart.

Thank you Floyd.

I had to make a choice of which group of knives to keep it with. Either keep it with the Craftsman knives, because of the shield. Or keep it with the Schrade 863 knives, because of the tang stamp. I decided to keep it with the Schrade 863 knives.

Here I go guessing again. What do you suppose, someone had that and the shield fell out & got lost. Having or acquiring a Craftsman shield, the fit was right so they stuck it in to replace the missing shield. Just something that filled in the space when my mind goes wandering without me.

Or maybe the SCHRADE WALDEN, tang stamped blade, is a replacement for a broken, CRAFTSMAN 9494, tang stamped blade.

Another possibility. I guess we'll never know. In spite of the mystery, it's a fine knife.

Today, this knife joins the Camillus 72 variation family. Another Craftsman 9494, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knife. I gave it a minor cleaning, took pictures and here it is.

Today I bought this knife for best offer. Another Camillus 72 variation, another Schrade 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. It looks like it's in pretty nice condition. When I receive it, it will be cleaned if necessary. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Last night, for best offer, I bought both of these knives. Both are Camillus 72 variations. One is another CRAFTSMAN 9494 and the other is another SCHRADE WALDEN 863 (possibly not stamped 863), with a CRAFTSMAN 9494 etched main blade. Both are 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knives. They both look like they're in very good condition and won't need any cleaning. When I receive them, both will get a thorough inspection. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Today this knife joins my Camillus 72 variations collection. It's another SCHRADE 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. It required no cleaning at all. I took a few pictures and here it is.

This afternoon, my trip to the post office produced these two Camillus 72 variation knives. A CRAFTSMAN 9494, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. A SCHRADE WALDEN 863 (not stamped or marked 863), 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. It has CRAFTSMAN 9494 etched on the main blade. Neither knife required any cleaning. I took some pictures, here are the knives.

Thank you Grant.

Here is the seller's description of the handles.
"Nice peachseed jigged black composition handles, no cracks or chips. Pinned shield."
