The knife measures a tad over 3 3/8" with brass liners, steel pins, and celluloid handles.
The shield is thru pinned. The stamp is "C K C" in a rectangle with the corners squared off.
Back spring on master is .100 "
Bolsters are iron.

I have NEVER in my life seen that old Colonial logo on a tang of ANY knife!!
1926 for this logo.....this is one of the very first jack knives that Colonial ever
produced, and in my opinion "msteele 6" is VERY valuable!!
I would give you $ 100.00 for it if I had the money!!
Here's the same logo in a company letter head from years ago.....
Don't sell this knife please!! It could be very well an important part of history!!

WOW Joe!! What a pair of beautie's!! Both 1926, 1927 production and I have no
idea how many were made. These are two of the oldest and most valuable Colonial's I've ever seen..
Are you sure those bolster's are iron?? They have an Aluminum apperance but they
must be NS...If they were iron, they would be more pitted?? What are your thoughts pal..
You have the advantage of holding them and carefully inspecting them, as I would..

Just got this serpentine jack. 3 1/4", main blade stamped COLONIAL PROV. R.I. PAT. PEND. , pen blade stamped U.S.A.

This blister pack has been laying around for the last year... just now thought about it and took a pic to put in my images with the other blister packs.
Someone posted one with the scalloped blade like it in the TL-29 thread a while back - think it had the glow-in-the-dark
handles, Bobby's favorite handle material , but this is the first I've seen with the "Day-Glow" orange handle.

Hello Bruno, nice little # 44, 2 blade medium jacknife. Here's one for the books also.
They came in imitation plastic stag, red, yellow, white sky blue, black...
AND we made millions of them...back then, in the 60's and 70's, for a buck or two, you had
a nice strong, American made pocket knife...and if you lost it, go buy another one...who cares!!!
The amazing thing to me is that so many of them are out there still working!

Joe has a classic part of a very successful line called the "Hunter Orange" line, consisting of four knives originally : #2644, #1200, #2902, and a 4" lockback...
Yours Joe is a # 810, 1" Scalloped blade Utility knife.. (actually a #2902 Electrian),,,

A Swiss Master multi blade, one of those bronze touring car single blades (new old stock), a Ranger 2 3/4" 2 blade pen knife (New old stock), 2 blade fish knife, a 2 blade jack - plastic stag, and an ad knife (2 blade - clip and cap lifter).
I'll post pics once I receive all of them.

What was the correct name for the car knife? Was the Swiss knife called a utility knife or did it have another name?

The old Swiss Master utility on top is our #1405; about 80's production.
The Antique Car was just that! Casted, antique finish and used for Ad Specialty
with blade etchings, most of the time...
Our famous # S 409 F, or # 410 was a long time favorite.. this one could be late 70's..
There's no bail hole on the but end of the bolster?? If the hole is there but
the bail is missing, I can hook you up!

I came across two Colonial hobo knives that are quite different if you look closely.

Gino man, these I love and you'ved helped me more than you know by showing several pics from all angles; just as if it were in my hands! Good job!! And now I'll say why...

These are identical cat. #s 2644 Camper's Utility....but endured many changes through the years..to me, the top one is clearly the older of the pair. Late 60's I'm thinking...
The steel in this one is a bit thicker, I'm thinking 1075 steel and .075 thick; the second one looks like .060 to me. The light brown 60's one also has been polished bolster's; that bright hande edge tells us that. The fork tongs are also older on it, AND we have an old long pull....

The second one or #2 has thinner blades and has a third spring!! This middle or third spring supports the pocket blade alone! They also added another brass cut scale..
Somewhere along the line they felt because of the fork and spoon tang bends, they needed more room inside the knife and they provided for it! This also added more "beef" and strenght to it.. (grandpa Fred must have still been alive)...the fork and spoon bend's are sharper, and allow a small cut in the handle rather than a big hole. Let's see, what did I miss??
The second one was probably re-tooled and made in the mid to late 70's...

Here are two more I just received.
I believe the serpentine jack is a #44. The blades are a little spotty but it's a nice tight knife.
The Ranger pen knife is New Old Stock and is 2 3/4". A very well made knife.

I just love huntin' for these little gems.

missing bail and substantial crack made it cost 99 cents
the Wards Electrician is crack free with the bail and cost $5
the blades in both work great with same amount of use and the Wards is not that much higher quality than the Colonial, wonder what the price difference was new?

Hey Josh is the punch not on that one. If so I have one just like it and that would be only the 2nd one I have ever saw with no punch.

Greetings gents; another Colonial mystery is bestowed upon us!
It's our old # 1200 Forest Master and for some reason, some were made without the belt punch that is MIA and what Joe is talking about. No clue!
I would love to see a side view Josh because I can't determine for sure if it's a shell or solid NS bolster construction..that would meen it's older but it has a newer nail mark and not a long pull..mmmmm....I still date this one around 60's production just from the wear.

Now my friend Mickey has an antique # 2902, Electritian's knife with solid hard wood handles...Solid pin construction with IRON bolster's!! It's old buddy..crued hand peened rivets and look next to the butt assembly rivet, there's another pin-on rivet!!
I'm thinking late 30's on this baby..maybe earlier!!
