Definitely could be that too, thought they were more rounded spots but I don't know the breed and could be way off. Good idea though.

I think they were discontinued in the USA and not to many made with the USA stamp. This one does have some very nice red handles. Use to be one of the cheapest Knives case made and I remember when I was first collecting in the seventies I could only afford patterns with no shields and bolsters on one end. My goodness! Thatβs a spectacular Case! Wow!Ivoryman wrote: βSat Mar 27, 2021 8:02 pm Browsed Knifeaholic's plethora of pages of beautiful vintage Case knives and spotted this one. 1972 6232 and was quite taken by the bones. The old Case red bone grabs me. It's has splotches of everything from white to red to black. Loooooooooooove that. And have to say I reeeeeaaaaaaly like the way Case used to keep the blades crisp and sharp even on the tang and spines. Do NOT like the modern Case blades tumbled in the medium vats to dull the edges of the spine, tip and tang and everything. Loooooooovvve the old ways and the old bones and the old everything much, much better. Case should start making them like this again and they could charge what GEC is charging because to me, as I view it, GEC did not much more than take old machines and old ways and make knives like Case used to in the pre-seventies eras. I love these older ones. Somebody modified the bolsters to brushed/satin on this one. They hit the pins and bone too, dulled them up. Love the jigging on these oldies too, and this one seems to have different jigging on both sides. But I like that too. And perfect transitions, tight no light, no gaps between liner and springs. I saw a post that said a Case rep recently said as long as you can't put a credit card in the gap between springs and liner, it passes inspection now days. Sad. These oldies are light tight, you couldn't put a piece of paper between them, much less credit card. Tight, solid, dead centered, very satisfying snap and click open and closed. Great spring tension. Thanks Knifeaholic.
