Excellent! ::tu::
1st time I've ever seen Gerbers like those.
Thanks .
They came from a Sporting Goods Store that went out of Business. They were in a display board that fell apart .
Gerber Started the Custom Series with green nylon handles in 1975 to 1976 with 6 different models 300A-300B-325-375-425-475 . All were drop point knives with polished stainless blades . In 1977 and 1978 they were Ebony Wood Handles and then in 1979 to 1983 they went to Stag. Like the one's in my Pictures . I think AL-Mar had a hand in these ::handshake::

That is an arresting photo, John. Do you happen to know what kind of steel ESSEE is using?

They mostly use 1095. That’s what both mine are.

Some Finnish Puukkos, 3 are Martini, The ones with black sheats are pretty new and the Lapland Leuku with the print on blade is older, not sure how old. Last one is from one of the most known Finnish knifemaker Iisakki Järvenpää.

Each knife shows quality. Particularly appealing to me is the one by Jarvenpaa.

I like it the most too, its simple but high quality, not sure about the age but relatively old. Iisakki Järvenpää was selflearnt knifemaker who started making knives in the late 1800's. He invented that line you see on the blade which you find on many blades today, we call it "Bloodline" in Finland.

There is also this picture of JFK with Iisakki Järvenpää's Hevosenpääpuukko (first ones made 1882 and are still on production) on his desk, no one knows how he got it. Rumour is that Urho Kalevi Kekkonen (The longest sitting President in Finland 1956-1982) gave it to him. Also added a random picture of John Wayne with Iisakki Järvenpää's knife on his belt, dont know what model it is though.

The standard handle feels a little "slabby" (for lack of a better word) to me. Not uncomfortable but too flat to be a perfect fit. Like you I have large hands. The modified handle looks a little fatter and rounder.

damigg, Thank you for the excellent information. Very interesting about JFK and John Wayne. In the U.S. many call your "bloodline" a blood groove. Here you will often see or hear people call it a blood groove. The popular belief is that it enables a knife to be withdrawn more easily after sticking it into an enemy's body. I believe that idea spread widely during and following WWII.

The proper term for the "bloodline" here is a "fuller." It is used, not for the grim purposes of war, but simply to lighten the blade.

Again, thank you for your most interesting input.
