Don't know how I double posted but anymore there seems to be a lot of stuff I don't know. But I'm still happy!

Me too Sam! ::ds:: ::groove:: ::ds:: You certainly seem to have been bitten by the Launch bug buddy, and if they're making you this happy I say keep on buying them! I'll need to look up a Launch 1 since I have no idea what they look like. Happy for ya man! 8) EDIT: I saw them at BladeHQ and it's little wonder why you like it so much, very cool auto!

Was really impressed with the Launch8 but it's not a whittler if you get my drift. Automatic knives are legal in Indiana and I plan on carrying and using it. If I really like it I'll buy another, just in case I loose or brake the first one. That is when I sell something or cash in some quarters.

LOL! ::rotflol:: I knew you really liked your new 8, but I certainly understand your desire for a more practical model for say, whittling. It really wouldn't surprise me if all the Launch models were very good knives. And I'm sooooo envious of you right now for living where autos are legal! ::mdm::

~Q~ if you see this I couldn't wait until I ran across an Otter. I found this one on Amazon and went ahead and bought it.
It's called a Beekeeper's Knife and I know nothing about them but I will soon. The knife should be here middle of next week.

These have been on my watch list for several months so I broke down and ordered them this morning. Patriotic handles are a weakness of mine. Soooo hard to resist.

This one is on it's way. Should be here early next week. Had a hankering for a Nessmuk for several years (it's the blade profile) and finally pulled the trigger.

At €15.25 shipped, l almost feel like I stole this one. ::paranoid:: An unused, uncarried, Robert Klaas - Kissing Crane made in Solingen with wood handles. I'm pretty stoked about it. ::nod:: ::super_happy::

Looks great! I've been looking at getting that one myself. Another forum I'm on did a Nessmuk challenge, in which we had to carry a fixed blade, a small folder, and a small hatchet for 30 days; and I just ended up using my Buck 105 as I was too cheap to buy a Nessmuk at the time.

I have a much larger model (Moonshiner with a 9-inch blade), and the leather seems to have been waterproofed already, and the wood is also finished well. I have used the thing hard as a bolo/bushwhacking knife for clearing fence rows (really should upgrade to a 18" blade machete), and it's held an edge well and been pretty kind to rough use and neglect.

That's a steal! I haven't even been able to find the plastic-handle "work knife" for that little!

Nice knife! The only Otter I own is a modern Mercator, and I was pretty impressed with the workmanship. The handles, shield, and bolsters on that one all look great!

I suspect it's mostly merchandising. I've seen "beekeeper's knives" at both Tractor Supply and Rural King lately, and they were both rather large fixed blades that looked nothing like that.

I'm impressed on how they were able to put that pattern on the bone on that RR.

I keep meaning on buying a US flag SAK, but printed stuff is hit-or-miss on how it wears. That little sharpener looks like something handy to have.

Hi Cody,

Figured out why the price was so low. It's a little guy. 2 3/8" closed. I thought it would be bigger but I didn't ask the seller about the size. ::facepalm:: Oh well, price was still ok, just not the steal I thought it was. :)

I think it still is quite the deal, as a pattern like that should be around $50--in fact, that's the going price for Case's 109 pattern with plastic handles. I paid $20 for a Bear around that same size and thought I got a deal.
