6275LP Rogers Bone w/pen blade configuration & bomb shield
This is a new revelation to me! I always thought the 6275 was what we know as a “Moose”, clip on front and long spay on back. Just looking at this great knife without a ruler I would have thought it to be a 6292. Learn something new every day.

That sure is some beautiful bone on that one.
Curious: Is it common for pattern 75 from that era (Tested?) not to have any tang stamps?
It has a tang stamp.. just a
Light one. W.R CASE

I agree, I’d assume 92 as well. The pen variation is pretty uncommon.
This is only the 3rd one I’ve held, the previous were w.r case as well, stag and red Rogers. One of which was well documented in a few books

Went to a knife show about 50 miles from me today. Was refreshing to get out to one for sure. Met some good folks and there were some decent deals around. Picked this one up while I was there. A 1971 Case 6143 Big Daddy Barlow pattern in Red Bone. Blade is tight with awesome snap. Does have some scratches & spotting, but are full and sharp. The Red Bone Handles are very nice with no cracks.

Appreciate it Cudgee. Yes, it was great to be able to have one to go to. Hopefully some others will pop up.

If I had that pretty red Case, I'm afraid I'd have to make it into a EDC! That looks to be a real work horse. Congratulations, Papa Bones!

Thanks "Q", and that's what I like about some of the older Case handles.

No worries about that, it will get some pocket time ... from time to time.

Appreciate it. Funny you should say that, I do keep a selection of my edc knives on the edge of the mantle in our living room.

Two very nice additions, indeed. I really like that 6111½. Not sure exactly what the color of yours is called, but to me the bone sure looks like what Case called "Indian Paintbrush". I haven't collected Cheetahs for a few years now, but back when I was collecting them that color was pretty scarce & hard to find. Def one of my favs.

Brings back some good memories.

Nice score on the Hunter Green Baby Butterbean, Tom. Love the deep, rich color of that bone.
FWIW - I have tried to find out the "official" name for that particular shield, but no one seems to know exactly what it's called. I've seen/heard it called "Brass Lamp" (I guess because it resembles the fabled Aladdin's "genie lamp"), "Celebration Shield" (no idea why) and a few other less memorable names that I can't recall at the moment. Personally, I call it a "Sting Ray" shield...because...well...that's what it looks like to me.

I too am curious about what to call that shield (like it very much) so I sent an inquiry to Case. Stay tuned for the results of said inquiry.

Picked this up a few months ago but didn't really look at it too much. A Case Tested XX stamping I don't see very often. The scales are a black plastic much like the rough black. I think this was one of Case's "economy" offerings at the time. Never used and still has factory edge.
Anyone have any info on these? Steve still around these parts?
