Actually, it came out in 2005, there was only a single run made and then Camillus filed for bankruptcy in February 2007. They made nothing in 2007 and very little from October 2006 to the end, mainly cobbling stuff together from spare parts is what I heard.

60 euros is a really good deal.

I'd love to hear some numbers how much was made and obviously most of them might be long time gone. Everytime I mention the knife most people tell mne that there isn't such a Camillus and dont believe before I show it.

I had a hankering for a knife similar in concept to the Collins #18, which in an old Abercrombie Fitch catalog (1909 if I recall) was advertised as being a knife that could handle the tasks of both a machete and small hatchet. Old bolos were out of my price range, as were most modern knives of the type.

It was retired some years ago, and was on sale for $35 shipped. I have used it for darn near everything, and it will quickly cut through small tree limbs, heavy brush, vines, you name it. I am pretty short, so the 12" blade is enough. Blade is also a quarter of an inch thick, which means it's got some weight behind it when it's swung. I was clearing invasive vines behind the barn earlier this week, and it chopped through some limbs that were close to an inch thick in one swing.

Steel I think was advertised as 1075. It's taken a beating and still is sharp. The sheath is really good.

Condor, while seemingly a different company, is an upscale brand used by Imacasa for the North American and European markets. Like their matchetes, it is made in El Salvador. What is ironic is that a $15 machete, with shipping these days cost as much as this.
