Gut me some real users this weekend a Schrade Walden marlin spike and a Camillus 882.

Always wanted one of these Large Gerber 5978's. Found one today at a price I could not resist.

Wow Trevor. That's a big boy's knife.

Made a deal on this 63046 a week or so ago and picked it up yesterday. The guy I got it from said it was too hard to open. He carried a few times and put it up . The Humpback Stockman, with 2 springs, opens for me and it snaps like the proverbial gator . Hasn't been on a whet stone, yet . Reading up on this pattern, there is also a Humpback Whittler that has 3 back springs according to the Shepherd Hills site.

Phil, can you show us the knife with the blades open? And what's the closed length?

10-4 Jerry. This one is 3 5/8" closed, a Humpback Stockman and here is a picture. The Humpback Whittler by the same number has the same blades but 3 springs with the main spear in the center of the well , according to Shepherd Hills. I don't know the benefit of the extra spring, other than centering the main blade on one end of the knife? There is also a 2 bladed Humpback Half Whittler shown with a clip and pen configuration.

I'm not real high on stockmans but that's nice. I'll have to go to Shepard Hills and peak out the whittlers & half whittlers.

As for the three spring whittlers, I've been led to believe that the three spring models are easier to make than the split spring models. I don't have any trouble believing that.

Stumbled across a great deal on this ProTech Godfather today......pretty slick looking knife, wonder if the wood handles could be replaced with Elk or Stag...........

Found only 2 today.

Camillus 4 line easy open & a German made melon/sausage tester. No markings on the German knife other than Solingen, Rostfrei, & inoxydable.

Hit a bit of a dry spell with regards to finding any "good" old knives till last week. Here is my last seven days haul: The most interesting knife out of the bunch is the small Italian knife that looks like a switchblade. Picked it up yesterday at an antique mall for $6.00. When locked out is has no wobble or play in the blade.

I love those Italian horn knives Mountain Man Here's a few I picked up, finally found a Miller Bros (Meriden) with beautiful detail, an old T Renshaw & Son Sheffield, and a tiny little Craftsman.

Picked these up yesterday from an antique store, the two for $20! I think the little Boker is going to become an EDC, it's a perfect size to go with my bigger pocket clip.

Just picked up a Boker congress at the gun show. Last minute purchase - the guy was boxing up his inventory and I spotted this little rascal on his table.
