This picture (U.P. Big Boy 4-8-8-4 X4004) is hanging over the guest bedroom bed at my mother-in-law's house. Her husband and my dad worked together at B&O/Chessie/CSX for many years. Brenda's dad was into collecting local railroad items, including pictures he would come across. No one's sure where he found this picture, maybe from another railroad buddy.
Hope you can see the picture ok, hard to take with the lighting.

Ike, i think we should all take a bow.

You predicted this thread would have 25 pages by the end of your winter. I think your spring starts today, correct me if i am wrong, and we have 29 pages. We will have to have a longer than expected stop at the next station. We are running ahead of time.

This is an F Class diesel shunting/yard loco. Purchased by the Victorian Railways in 1951 for yard use only. I don't know if there are any left.

Mate i don't know. I just downloaded the photo to keep the Railway time theme going. I would think it might be something like New York Central, or some where similar, e.g. an old established station in a large Capital City. You have a good week.

Cudgee: Bet that guy had a good memory! Imagine the mechanical workings under that yard. My Dad had a switch club in the trunk of his '49 Hudson. It was a massive hunk of hickory wood twice the size of a baseball bat. It was shoved into a hole in the iron weight on the end of the switch rod to throw the rod over and activate the switch. Love that railroad stuff! J.O'.

Have you ever wondered.
I see Swift trailers and containers on trains.
But Swift drivers always seem to be the ones doing idiot stuff.
Makes me wonder....
