Nice Al Mar there Garry!
IIRC, that came out in late 1986 or early 1987.
I believe it was called the Tanken.
There was also one with a tanto point.

I had #043 of 200, but gave it to my oldest son.
Both my sons got a #43 Al Mar fixed blade from the same era.

Ricky,
that little bird & trout Queen looks a lot like my Wesky!
I love bird & trout patterns!

I believe it was called the Tanken.
You may be right but the seller identified it as the "Shugoto 1."

On second thought that may be correct.
The Tanken may have been a similar pattern with a wood handle.
If my memory serves (and it often does not) ::facepalm:: they were both released at the same time about the end of 1986 or early 1987.
I had both patterns and gave one to of them to my oldest son and the wood handled one to my youngest son.

Here's my current favorite fixed blade. It's a Western 1935-1950 if I read the tang stamp charts right. It's a neat as can be and takes a real nice edge. I'm not sure of the model number, any information y'all have would be appreciated. I know it takes a REAL sharp edge.

I am finally getting around to taking new pics of my knives since I lost the first batch. They are not the best quality, but I think they are clear enough to recognize. Anyhow, this is my Kodiak. The box has the cardboard insert, and the guard has no stars, so I believe it was made before 1970, Tim

How did you get it home? They shook us down when we hit Okinawa. Of course no one looked twice at the Zip foot locker I shipped home (you know, the one covered in beer cans). Hell, I could have shipped an M-14 in that if I could have got my hands on a clean (no records) one.

I shipped two sea bags home, with lots of good stuff in them, that knife and a Chicom potato masher grenade - de activated of course. They got home in good shape - except I had two switchblades in one bag and it was slit open and the knives gone. Glad the other bag wasn't slit open.

Here's a couple youdon't see in this condition everyday. The 5325-6 was discontinued in stag in 1968. Tim

Thanks guys! These next two, I believe to be transitions. The m5finn has the usa stamp, but no pattern no., while the 516-5 has just "case", but with the knights head pommel. Someone please correct me if I am wrong about that, Tim

I thought I had posted this picture previously, but I checked the relevant threads and can't find it. In any event I gave it to a sister for Christmas.

The knife is an Edge Mark...

I collected Outers pattern knives for a while. Here is the better part of them. Included is one of the three that I made (just because I liked the pattern so much). Hope you enjoy the pics. Wayne
