Wostenholm Wireless Knife

You see a TON of the MOD issued one-blade screwdriver-only knives" but the civilian two blades are rare. Got this one in a lot of three decent Wostenholm knives for $25.

Snaps like a gator, really well made, and the thickest screwdriver I have ever seen.


And I use this one. The file is really handy when I don't see need for one of my Leatherman tools.


Handles are "vulcanized fiber". I have no idea of age, but found this old ad online.

Here is an older pre-1940 knife marked DASCO but looks to me to be a Schrade contact knife (as most DASCO pocketknives were).

This one has the screwdriver lock normally only seen on the smaller, slimmer, versions - instead of the liner lock, this one has the lockback on the screwdriver, released by pressing down on the back of the spear blade.

This is the only full-size electrician that I have ever seen made like this, either by Schrade or by anyone else.

Found this RIC-NOR, BOSTON, USA , TL-29 today. Ric-Nor is/was an electrical supply company who (they say) had them made by Providence Cutlery.
I'm not a great fan of TL-29's or plastic handles but this one caught my eye. The handle is a swirled celluloid or Bakelite and is ribbed on it's edges. Blades a little stained but otherwise good. Walks and talks. J.O'.

Just picked this one up from the big auction site. No markings on it at all. Cocobolo covers, brass liners, and a brass bail. Never seen a brass bail on one before.

If anyone can help identify the manufacturer or age, I'd be most appreciative!

Recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. However, it did end up being added to my general pocket knife collection. It is a KLEIN TOOLS, one blade, one tool, one tang stamp, 3 5/8" closed (not including the bail), two springs, electrician style or pattern of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "CC (over) KLEIN TOOLS (over) CHICAGO, USA" The main blade has a soft half stop, along with a soft opening and closing snap. The tool has a good half stop, with a good opening and closing snap. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. I had to clean it up a little. I took some pictures and here it is.

I have never had a Klein tools knife but always heard them to be a solid knife.

Skip, I like your use of the phrase "general pocket knife collection". I suppose that encompasses all that fall between the "junkers" and the "premium" pieces in your collection?

When I say "general pocket knife collection",
I mean knives that I don't purposely collect.
Maybe I should say, "general pocket knife accumulation."

I had to clean it up a little bit. I took some pictures and here it is.

Back in February of 2022, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper and it did get added to my general pocket knife accumulation. It is a Sabre 635, one blade, one tool, one tang stamp, 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail), electrician, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Sabre (over) JAPAN (over) 635" Yes, the main handle side is brown and the other handle side is black. I have no reason to believe that either handle side is a replacement. The main blade has a good half stop, also a NASTY opening and closing snap. The tool also has a good half stop, along with a NASTY opening and closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did need some cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I did not buy the group or lot for this particular pocket knife. I was VERY surprised and pleased to discover it among the group or lot of pocket knives. It definitely got added to my general CAMILLUS pocket knife collection. It is a CAMILLUS, one blade, one tool, one tang stamp (double line), 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail), electrician, pattern or style of pocket knife. The tang stamp reads "CAMILLUS (over) New York (over) U.S.A." The main blade has a good half stop, also a WICKED opening and closing snap. The tool has a good half stop, it also has a WICKED opening and closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did require a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

The main blade front tang stamp has the KEEN KUTTER logo or trademark symbol and says, "E.C. SIMMONS (over) KEEN (over) KUTTER (over) ST. LOUIS (over) MO." The tool front tang stamp says, "Red Devil (over) S. & H. CO. (over) NEW YORK (over) U.S.A." The shield says, "U.S. SIGNAL CORPS" Per GOINS (1998 Edition), "RED DEVIL S & H CO. N.Y. c 1900-1956 A trademark used by Smith & Hemenway from 1900 to 1936, and by L.P. Smith from 1936 to 1956." The main blade has no half stop, but it does have an ok opening and closing snap. The tool also has no half stop, but it does have an ok opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR+ condition. It required a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I had a request from Skip to post the photos of my Colonial Electricians Knife. I posted the knife originally because I was amazed by the quality of the knife. Typically, Colonial is known for economy knives frequently with shell handle constructon. However, my Colonial has exceptional quality. There was another thread (describing my knife) with comments from Bob Paolantonio dated 2013. He stated the Electrician knife model number is 2903 and it was manufactured during the 1990s.He also indicated they made a G.I. Electrician's for the U.S. According to Bobby, "....We sold and made literally MILLIONS of these very popular handy "tool Box" item!!" The original version of the knife was produced in the 1970s and the initial patent was filed in 1965. The same patent number is on the tang of the screwdriver blade. Any other information about the knife is appreciated.

(It was suggested that I post on this thread one about one of my dad's knives that had put in the Colonial knife thread)Recently was awarded "custody" of my dad's knives, first Colonial of his that I have come across. Only know this knife as the electricians knife because I had a similar one that came with a Jensen tool kit I used years ago. Tang stamp on mine was Klein Tools.

The plastic handles of the kleins that alot of makers seemed to use was a subject of discussion on this thread years ago, but I'd like to add that the plastic on the Kleins doesn't seem as nice as the Craftsman's. They look similar but are certainly different.

Edit: almost forgot my favorite! This old pal has had the screwdriver sharpened into a main, and the actual main broke and reprofiled into a pen secondary. The Roger's board scales are gone, but the previous owner nipped the pins, smashed em, and kept right on working it seems. What a champion. The dude and the knife.

The Craftsman and white Colonial I'll agree with you on though.

I wonder if Colonial made knives for Craftsman? My black/red swirled one looks similar to the 3 blade Colonial a few posts up, and also to the Ric Nor a few farther up from that, and those were made by Colonial.

A couple of days ago, this SCHRADE 204S, electrician or lineman pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, I was quite surprised and VERY pleased to discover it among the group or lot of pocket knives and it did make a fine addition to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is a SCHRADE 204S, one blade, one tool (wire stripper), two tang stamps, 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail), two springs, electrician or lineman, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "SCHRADE (over) WALDEN (over) N.Y. U.S.A." The main blade back tang stamp says, "204S" The main blade has a CRISP half stop, a VERY GOOD opening snap and a VERY GOOD closing snap. The tool has a CRISP half stop, a GOOD opening snap and a GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It required a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
