All About Pocket Knives

Nice Bucks, gard.


Going with a big -65 Folding Hunter in Calypso bone today, quite a pocket full but seems appropriate for the Summertime.

I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone today. While I always have a SAK and a one handed Spyderco or Buck on me for convenience, I’m a traditional slip joint guy all the way and always have one on me. But today I took my trusty old Camillus 89 4 1/4” stockman out of my pocket.

My boy, CAP Second Lieutenant Parker Lewis is at Encampment (Basic Training) as a Flight Leader so I’m packing his favorites today. He has at least two of this trio on him at all times. ESEE 3, Spyderco Endura (that he’s worn slap out), and a Buck 110. I touched them all up today with my diamond pocket sharpener that I guarantee he has one just like it in his backpack.

We’ll see if I can stand it or if I have to grab one of my “real” knives before the day is over. lol

Colonel, that is a fine idea duplicating your boy's knives. And may his career flourish in his chosen field.

Great carrys guys I've been trying out different knives from around the world , tried laguiole but most are over uk legal blade length the last week I've been carrying a Douk-Douk, cool little knife , love the character on the handle

I’ve often thought I need to pick one of those up. Looks like a useful knife around the farm and shop.

Thank you neighbor. While his styles don’t always match my own preferences, he has developed a good sense of quality and usefulness in cutlery.

I was the same, for years I've had people say try one out , I got the small (petite in france) perfect here in the uk as blades under 3inches, slim in the pocket , wouldn't be over comfy to use all day

This week I'm carrying boxed Case knives that I have been neglecting, next up is a -32 pattern Mini-Moose in burnt Autumn bone. 3 5/8", super sharp Stainless and lots of character in the dye.

Well now Montanaman, I'll tell you what... I have more than one computer, multiple SD cards and three external hard drives. So, I don't need AAPK for their server space. In fact, I don't need to post a single picture here at all. I just thought people visiting this site like knives and especially like to look at pictures of knives. So, I go out of my way to try and take halfway decent and interesting pictures to add something to the AAPK site. However, it appears I was mistaken and that I have turned into some kind of freeloader and loaf-about, not paying my own fair share, not pulling my weight as would appear to be.

Well, don't let my freeloader appearance fool you Montanaman, because I have handed over more money to the AAPK site in the form of commissions from my store then you have forked over as a supporting member and that is a 100% guaranteed... hundreds and hundreds of dollars from me each year. I don't need to sell here; I have all the business I can handle elsewhere. However, I really like this site and most of the people on this site and having a store is nice option. But maybe those hundreds of dollars each year don't really count... because YOU say so!

Now, I will try and cut down on the pictures of my beat-up old knives that I was posting, just to leave more server space for your fancy high-dollar knives that you like to post. Those knives you use to "skin hogs with" that don't have a detectable scratch or the slightest blemish, or mark or patina on them... even after skinning all of them big 'Ol hogs out there in the Bad-Lands of Montana . I'll save the space on AAPK's poor old worn-out, overloaded server for your "classy" pictures.
