I am with everyone else gino. It would be in my pocket most everyday also. I would carry this one today if I had it like I want it. It just has some problems. It is the closest thing to a quality scout I have.

I've been back to carrying medium size Stockman knives for the past month (Buck, Frontier, Schrade) so today I have pulled out this Japanese made Sears Craftsman trapper - it is supposed to have a Parker connection of some type - going to carry it for a few days.

Carrying my Buck Ecolite 112 with the 442 drop point reblade. Another knife that should be in production, but isn't. This is the best user I've had.

Todays offering is this: Just loving the Boker family of knives lately, on a kick with them. I keep telling my other knives they'll get a turn again...maybe?

You know, you would think GEC would put that into production.

Absolutely amazing that they don't, isn't it?

Here's my current favorite - it's not traditional and it's a locker, but it is one I made and I think it does have some classic lines:

That is one fine lookin' knife there Smokepole! What is the small cutout in the liner for? Looks like that blade is nice and thick, could do some serious work I bet. Love the wood too....you are a talented man!

Thanks Mike, glad you like it - and you are right - they were designed and built to really work. The small cutout is to "lighten" the spring somewhat so that you can disengage it. It is also creates a "weak" point for the spring to "bend" at under unimaginable pressure - and I mean that - the pressures required are way, way beyond the muscular capability of the human body - I literally don't think you could get that blade to close fully with a 4 pound hammer, once the lock is engaged.

i really like the wenge wood you used on that knife i would like to see more knives in that wood

I have this GEC 73 LE with me now. Its a little more used than in this pic now.

The Buck Slimline trapper went to the dove field yesterday and performed slaughter duty that evening.

I (GASP!) do not have one on me right now.

But yesterday I used one of my Coyote Lock Backs quite a bit to cut zip ties and rope.
