Correct, not happy with management and a feeling of being taken for granted, and some fans are staying away. They are also a small market team in a town with the hottest team in the NHL competing for fans as playoffs are looming. St Louis is also a hotbed for soccer and the MLS season is getting underway, but it's early. A few more wins, and some nice weather, and the fans will be back.

Three games into the season and they write that?? Must be hard up for a story. The Cardinals are also undefeated and in first place (three games in). ::facepalm:: :roll:

Let’s wait until at least the end of May before making any conclusions or speculation about MLB. :lol: Even that is early!

Watching a game on MLB last night and it was hilarious listening to the broadcasters explanation of the construction of the "torpedo bats" that a lot of MLB players are using this season. They said that during construction "extra wood is moved to the sweet spot on the bat", which of course isn't true at all. Bats are turned on wood lathes, which can only remove wood from a blank. The fat end of the blank simply has more wood removed to provide the taper seen on these bats.

::disgust::

All this media hoopla about “torpedo” bats? They’ve been around (and in use) in MLB for years. They may become a (media induced) fad now, but had the damnYankees, from media-centric New York City, not had a fluke multi-homer day we wouldn’t be reading and hearing anything about them. In that game they beat Milwaukee 20-9 and hit 9 home runs (not all of them using the torpedo bat). But Milwaukee lost yesterday too, by a score of 11-1, to Kansas City. Maybe Milwaukee had something to do with it? ::hmm::

It was an interesting night for MLB.....Skenes outduels Yamamoto, Nats had a triple play, Bochy returns to SF and picks up a win thanks to Eovaldi, and a little more than 10,000 people show up in chilly weather to watch the White Sox take on the Athletics in Sacramento......must have had some ticket giveaways.

I watched MLB's preview of that matchup, as if it was the Cy Young Award candidates. Everyone is selling clicks. Skenes is living up to his hype.
The Red's Green ain't bad.

I like pitching and defense, Lyle, I'll take a 2-1 game over a slugfest anyday. Speaking of the Reds, Lowder is coming off IL, I'm anxious to see how well he pitches. Noelvi Marte has been a pleasant surprise with the bat for your boys too.

Huge 3rd period for the Caps! The Habs have put up a good showing, but they are just too young.

Yeah, Mets were on a roll until this current series, no thanks to their bullpen.

Friday's game ended on a terrible note with LT taking a stick to the throat, from his own teammate! I was happy to see him start yesterday.

+1 ::tu:: Some folks may think a slugfest is exciting but in a tight pitcher’s duel every pitch is a possible game changer! The strategy of what’s going on, from both sides, is what I love about the game. Those who don’t really know the game well think that is boring and I get that. (They’re also the ones who do “the wave” when there’s two on and one out in the 7th inning of a 1-run game). ::facepalm::

You're right about Marte, but he needs Scott Rolen to teach him how to throw. His double clutching drives me nuts. It seems the younger players don't take defense seriously if they can hit. McClain is having trouble hitting the baseball except to pop up, but Steer looks better.

Del la Cruz makes a spectacular play then a knucklehead one.

Keep an eye on the Chicago White Sox. They should begin to climb in the standings with a little divine assistance, Pope Leo is a White Sox fan! ::nod::
