I am gonna carry this 78 Case Stag with me the rest of tonight and tomorrow. I had it listed on fleabay but noticed a hairline crack in one corner of the stag so I am gonna put it in my EDC rotation. I always did love it any way.

I've been totin' this rascal the last few days. It's so dang pretty I've been taking special care to wax the blades and carry it in a little pocket holster I made when I was a kid at camp.

I think this is my favorite GEC pattern yet. Feels great in the hand and carries well, I wish the pic showed the color better--this thing really pops and has a lot of red tones.

Cooter -- That's one great looking knife. I like those handles just fine the way they came out in the picture. Now see what you've done? You've got me thinkin' about 'em. Next thing ya know, I'll have one and be looking for a French Kate or Templar.

Since joining AAPK, my intrest in more traditional slipjoints has greatly increased, to the point that I now have a nice rotation of edc knives. That being the case, I've given less attention in recent months to the one knife that used to be, hands down, my number one choice.
This guy has been with me for a looooong time and hes still kickin ash. Hard working, sleek design, easy to handle, sharp as all get out. luv my leek
...oh yeah, it did used to have the black finish...and a bit more blade. Im pretty proud of that 8)

This is always a fun thread, to see what everyone else choses to carry. Gino, you gave me a little inspiration with that Case Jack - I've carrying the Bear Stockman for two straight weeks; think for today and tomorrow I will carry this Sears Trapper.

Yesterday I carried this. Its my Glennbad custom. Awesome, tough, hard working knife.

Today its the Canal Street with American chestnut scales. Its my first Canal Street and I have a hard time not packing it everyday. It's that good.

A new pattern of every day carry is forming for me.

For a long time, I've carrying a small Leatherman Micra in my backpack as a back up to whatever single bladed knife I had in my RFP.

Last week, I was at a (very nice) wedding party in Vermont. They had a tub of ice with a great selection of Vermont beers. I reached in and... no bottle opener. I had to walk around the party like a fool with an unopened beer till I found my pack stashed inside the house.

The Micra went into my LFP along with my money clip and has been riding there since. To my great surprise, I've ended up using the little thing every day for something (and no, not for beer, at least not every day) - much more use than it was getting riding in my pack.

I've destroyed more Victorinox Classics than I can count. I've found the Micra to be impossible to kill and better than the Classic in every way (ok, it weighs a tick more). The scissors in particular are wonderful. Very powerful and great for doing rough cutting in the shop. I use them like mini-shears often.

I did mod my Micra. I cut off the teeny, useless blade which makes it TSA friendly for business travel. Once I get my checked baggage, I have a real knife with me anyway. And it's a hair lighter now.

Sorry for the stock photo. But this is becoming a standard part of the carry.

Great minds think alike! I switch off between a Micra and a Victorinox classic in my watch pocket. Which one I carry depends on what other knives I'm carrying...........I've got to have my SAK toothpick! So if I have my SAK Tinker in my LFP I have the Micra in the watch pocket. I wonder if we could talk Leatherman into adding a slide out toothpick to the Micra.

I have destroyed the scissors on a Micra though, by pushing the envelop and expecting them to do more than they were made to do. ::facepalm::

I get the toothpick thing. I keep wooden ones in my pack in tin of Altoids. Those I don't mind walking to get.

I'll bet you were able to push the envelope a lot further with the Micra than with the Vic Classic scissors! ::tu::

Yep! The classic scissors are pretty much restricted to paper, thread, light fishing line etc. The micra scissors are much more robust. The micra I destroyed snapped half way through a hard hat modification. I was cutting the visor off to make it a more viable caving helmet for an ill-equipped beginner. To the micra's credit, it got half way through before it failed. I finished the job with the serrated sheep foot blade on my Gerber miuli-plyers. (the file on the multi-plyers dressed the rough edged rather nicely too) I made a few adjustments to the inner web, rigged a chin strap, attached my spare Petzel lamp, and he was in business. Needless to say, later that evening after we came out of the cave and down off the mountain I drove into town and bought a new micra! ::tu::

Man o man... I would say that goes well out beyond "envelope" pushing!! But it does demonstrate those scissors are closer to shears than anything. Very handy to have in the pocket.

I'll bet the folks at Leatherman would have gotten a kick out of a picture of what it took to kill those things.

Out of curiosity, what let loose? Did you pop the pivot/rivet? I would guess the visor material folded and put the blades on opposite sides of the material and *pop* went the pivot? Or did you snap a blade? Either way, that's a really great story.
