All About Pocket Knives

At the moment this is in my pocket:


If you can see it notice the two blades look VERY different. The main is shinier and is VERY sharp.
The other blade is rather dull and if I LOOK at it wrong it won't go through paper cleanly.

I had visions of modding the secondary and making my own Wharncliffe Mini Trapper. But that blade ain't worth it.

Who am I fooling anyhow? I don't really desire a mini trapper. There are two knives I am SURE I do want. Of course wanting don't do much good. But they are a Case Swayback Jack in CV, and a GEC 56 Jack in either Frontier Bone or Ebony. I'll just keep dreaming.

I took some new pictures of the 80T, 881Y and the Kutmaster. But the camera is out in the truck and I'm about to hit the sack...

Today I carried my Glennbad tl-29 conversion (y'all have seen it a bunch already) with the marigold bone scales. I had to go to school for some PD before the kids come back next week and man does that knife ride well in the pocket of a pair of slacks. You almost forget it's there! But it is big enough and tough enough to sure enough do some work. It's becoming one of my favorite knives.

I've been carrying this Bear & Son EDC since I bought it a week ago (it's the one I wrote a review on this past weekend), going to tie a sub-panel into the power pack for my nephew tomorrow morning - it will finally get some heavier use and I will be able to judge it a little better by then. So far it is a very nice pocket knife for the money.

Still with the 80T (new pics STILL on the card in the camera in the truck) as main front right knife.

But at home in shorts and have the RR763 Half Whittler in my pocket.

No pic but I'm carrying my old serpentine 3 blade eye brand smooth brown bone measures 3"7/8's closed it's a one eye now it's an oldie

Still takin' some of my oldies out for a walk. This one is getting some pocket time today.....

MGC 3 3/8" warnie stag bone lockback in my pocket today. Perfect pocket size. Razor sharp, good snap and lockup. Good value for the $ imo. They don't break the bank and it doesn't hurt my feelings to carry, use and scratch 'em up. Yet they are still 100% american made

That is a great lookin' knife Cutty! I haven't seen that one before, love the scales, the blade shape, and the fact that it is a lockback is a nice bonus too!

Ya'll sure do carry some perty knives around…I think I'm jealous

I don't have one in my pocket and I'll be hitting the sack pretty soon.

Today my buck Slimline trapper will go with me. After lunch I will start back to work on my case 93 so it can be in my pocket soon.

I'm back to one of my favorite EDC combos.......

Thanks. My wife, who for some reason loves me, got it for me for Christmas last year from one of the AAPK sellers. I love it.

@Gardog, actually the 500 is the big brother of the 501 and 503. It's the slimmer cousin to the 112. Here are my 110, 112 (carrying today), 500 and 482 "side buy each"

The 112 is such a classic and I love the shape of the handle, but the 500 stunning, pockets much better and I vastly prefer the drop point blade.

There is a guy in that forum who is making "slim line" Buck 112s, often rebladed with Buck drop point blades. Similar to the 500 Duke, but with the classic brass and ebony look. I think they're stunning and might push my mother off the curb for one.

Gardog, was thinking of you the other day. The family and I took a drive up through Berlin to catch a glimpse of the Nansen ski jump. Next day, we climbed up Mt. Madison. Berlin is off to the right just a bit from this picture. Had my Opinel #10 and Buck 482 on this trip. Full day of rain on the hike out left some spots on the Opinel. Our weather prefers stainless? Anyway, your neck of the woods, no?
