According to the Helle factory web.. Triple Laminated Stainless Steel.. It is comfortable but I will say this.. If you have very large hands the handle will be short.. I have Med/Lg hands and if they were any bigger they would be too big.. Hope this all makes sense.. John :D

I see you are into "scary sharp" there Scott with the Mora and Kershaw. Love them both!

The only knives I know that come even sharper from the factory than Kershaw & Mora would be a Helle like Johns. My buddy gave me his two Helles before he passed. They are beyond scary sharp!!

John, your making this 'beautiful picture' stuff repetitious. Another beautiful shot. Simple but amazing tree trunk or roots and a simple but practical knife. Excellent. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::nod::

Scott, that's a great picture! I see you have included for our viewing pleasure, a "sand hill or Hoover chicken".
When I was very young, I can remember seeing big gophers with folks initials carved in their shells, some times they had been painted and you could see some paint remaining in the grooves/recesses of their shells. We never ate them but we knew a lot of people who did back when times were hard. They are still considered a delicacy in some circles. :( They are now totally protected in Florida. I think a lot of the gophers were killed during the rattlesnake hunts, when the snake hunters would pour a little gasoline down a length of old garden hose and blow the vapors down the hole to cause the denned up snakes to come out of the gopher burrows.
Several gopher holes were found on a piece of land where our local school district was planning to build a new high school. A lot of legal wrangling and some land swap and relocation of the gophers took place before the project could proceed. This was back around Y2K before I retired in '09.
Thanks for showing the gopher along with your big old knife stuck in the piece of pine. ::tu::
