Thanks for all the compliments on the Case knives I posted.

Gary that Sportman's set is the grail of Case fixed blades. I've only seen a few in many years of collecting.

Keith no way to upgrade on the two you posted.

The _294X pattern is rare knife in my experience. It is 4 1/4 closed. I have seen them marked Case Bros Springville, W.R. Case & Sons, and Tested XX. This is a W.R. Case & Sons 5294X with the pattern number marked. It has the raised letter oval shield which seems to be a rare shield to me. The slim design of the frame and smooth bolster-to-bolster line of the main blade as seen from the front are appealing characteristics of this pattern to me.

That's something else. I'd assume that's rare in any condition and again a great rare knife you have. ::tu::

Greg, that is a very rare knife. Don’t see many of those come up for sale, if ever.
I have been scrolling past this thread time and again and just didn’t think I had any Case knife that was all that rare. I sold my 3 prototypes and those were rare.
Then it dawned on me that I have 6 rare case knives. This is set of Ivory handled Case knives. They all have matching serial numbers and have been hand scrimshawed by Gary Harbour. There isn’t another set of knives like them in the world, I guess that qualifies as rare.
Forgive me if I posted this already in this thread. Some of you may have already seen them in the for sale or trade thread.

Thanks to all who commented on the W.R. Case & Sons 5294X that was posted a few weeks ago. These pictures are a 4 1/4" Case Bros Little Valley 5394X Gunboat Canoe. It is a much more substantial knife than the 2 blade variation shown with the bottom side-by-side picture.

That is an amazing knife Jerry! The Case Bros. stamp is outstanding. Congratulations on that one. ::tu:: ::tu::

Jerry, I commented on the last canoe pattern you posted as the best I've ever seen but this is much better. I like it. ::tu::
