Thanks for posting that knife John,another I'd like to see in Titusville.Sheffield had so much stag,they didn't need to use bone . I don't think I've seen another Sheffield knife with that random jigging. This is not mine ,but a picture I got off the internet. An old Wostenholm.

Here's an older Wostenholm style than that first one I posted.I forgot about it.

Thank you Lloyd, Lyle, appreciate the comments. The jigging is also very deep, I would think it was done by hand. I have not come across another like it.

Lyle, both of the Farmers jacks are beautiful but that first one is something else, amazing collection buddy.

Another pic of the Barlow with another Wostenholm that has a different style of jigging, not as random or deep, most likely machine made.

John that second barlow has the recognizable distinctive English style jigging. A proper and orderly crisscrossing, if you would. You see it on most of those dog grooming knives and others.

I see that and immediately think Sheffield. Here's a Rawson Bros. I posted earlier, that has an elaborate edge to the hafting. It is routed.

Here are some examples of thou English jigging:

Great jigged bone folders John, Joe and Lyle! Here are a couple of Schrade Barlows with nice jigged bone handles.

Lyle, nice examples of vintage Sheffield jigging, Lloyd great old Schrades, jigged Barlows not as common as saw cut.

Here are a few more with nice jigging, a Shrade Cut Co, an early Camillus and a Challenge.

Here's a Empire jack with some pretty jigged bone and a U.S. made Wester Bros. with some unique jigging. It almost looks like the jigging forms a series of W's on the backside.

Dimitri, how is that knife stamped?

I have a relatively new neighbor who introduced himself to me as "Christopher Johnson".

I have been loosely checking Ebay for a Johnson knife simply marked, CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON.

I've seen JOHNSON WORKS, Flag with CJ, etc, but not CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON.

Add to that they tend to go a tad high, I've yet to find one I wanted to buy.

That's how it's marked, I just named the photo that way to make things easier.

Nice CJ Sheffield Knife Dimitri ... interesting jigging pattern too...
