Thank you Joe!! Dimitri sure nailed it. It has the KN Co at the bottom. The Northfield at the top is arched and kinda runs off the tang. Very small tang. I am currently reading through this fine thread that you started many years ago and am amazed at the history of Northfield cutlery and how hard they are to find. To answer your question, woodwalker, yes they did.
Per Goin's, on October 10, 1913, the property was sold to the Clark Brothers Cutlery Co. of Kansas City, Missouri.
They moved operations to Hotchkissville, Connecticut where they used the marking "Waterville K.C. MO, until 1914.

American Shear & Knife Co. was founded in Hotchkissville, Connecticut in 1853-1914.
Hotchkissville is just a very little section in the small town of Woodbury, Ct. They are very close to me.
Clark Bros. planned to combine these two factories in 1913 but the Hotchkissville plant burned in 1914 and Clark Bros. abandoned the venture.

For great cutlery history, David Anthony's books are highly recommended.
