I made a bid on this CASE Trapper on the Shepherd Hills website during their September auction and then never gave it a second thought. I had no expectations of winning it, but I just received a phone call from them confirming I won and it's in the mail!
Congrats David!!

In addition to the Cattleman's Cutlery Farriers Companion that's been stuck in SOUTHERN ME DISTRIBUTION CENTER since September 21st, I have these two on the way.
Case 2020 Mini-Trapper with Amber Bone, currently passing through SAN ANTONIO TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER
And this WESTERN 6504, a Camillus 72 clone, currently passing through CHARLESTON WV PROCESSING CENTER.

Thanks. Hardly ever see those so I decided to jump while the jumpin' was good. The condition appears to be very good.

Sweet knives Jerry. I have a couple of those Western 6504 and they are almost a 72 clone but not quite. Close enough to be cousins. I really like them.

Couple of nice ones Jerry. Can't go wrong with Amber Bone. Look forward for some more pictures of the Western when it arrives.

Floyd, what is it about the Western 6504 that keeps it from being a 72 clone (in your opinion)?

Jerry, it is not built on a swell center frame and I believe it to be slightly shorter than the 72. Both mine are put away but here is a pick to compare them with.
Top knife a 72 and next a 6504

Thanks Floyd. I never noticed that. Maybe that's why I had a picture of one but didn't have one of the knives.
Too late now Lewis. Done bit the things head off. It will be here the first part of next week.

Great looking additions everyone!
I like that Western Jerry!
I just picked up my first Eisenhower pen knife (2009 & unused). A pattern I believe I'll really like.

WOW Tommy boy, that is a magnificent pick-up. Love it, you obviously did your research on that one, and glad you could get it. Make sure you give us a full report when you get it.

Knice pickup buddy!
She's an especially fine example, of a pattern I've been meaning to collect myself; just other 'un's keep catching my eye...
The shield matches the bone perfectly, yummy!

After going through a period of waffling and deleting it from my eBay watch list, unable to make a decision whether or not to buy one of these RR Southwest Bow Trappers, I sank into the darkness of the abyss this morning and placed one on order. I had decided I wasn't going to buy any knives this month but my justification was it will go well with the other three RR Bow Trappers I already have. As Ray Stevens sang in the song "The Mississippi Squirrel Revival", "The devil got a-hold on me".
In case you've never heard "The Mississippi Squirrel Revival" before -----------------

Good looking knife Jerry. Some intricate work on the handles there. But I feel you my friend, I myself have made that same statement, but..........in reality in my case it is, "JUST..........ONE...............MORE..............MUST............RESIST.............OTHERS" In which case I usually fail.

Yes. As the late and great Flip Wilson was wont to say, "The devil made me do it."
