Jon Gray is a stud when he’s healthy. 97-98 mph fastball, sharp breaking slider, etc, - swing and miss stuff. Unfortunately he has been injured the past 6 weeks or so with a right forearm strain. If he’s healthy again he could be the difference maker.

BTW I was at the game last night with our youngest son. Most exciting playoff game I’ve witnessed in person since seeing Nelson Cruz hit a walk-off grand slam against Detroit in the 2011 ALCS. Last night with SRO crowd and extra innings nobody left the game early, so it was a madhouse with everyone trying to exit the parking lots at the same time. We didn’t get home until the wee hours this morning after we had over two hours drive home. But it was worth it especially getting to go with our son. ::tu::

Jon Gray - 3 innings, 1 hit, no runs, 3 strikeouts. Garcia - 94 mph rocket throws out runner at home. Corey Seager - 2 run homer, great stop and flip to start clutch DP. Depending on what happens with Garcia, Sborz and Scherzer injuries it may have been a costly victory.

Don’t know if I have enough BP meds for Chapman’s pitching! ::facepalm::

Ken, I was wondering if the back up catcher would pitch today. But yes a sweet win.

Inland Empire 66er fan here. The 66ers are a Single A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.

IMO, the minor leagues are the best pro ball entertainment. You can get grass seats, hot dogs, soda, and popcorn for a family of 4 for just $40.

We've been mini season ticket holders for 6 years now, though we splurge on executive box seats.

The 66ers have all sorts of fun for season ticket holders. We'll be going to watch the world series on the stadium big screen with fiod and beverages included.

Yep, first time ever. Rangers were one strike away (twice) from winning a ring in 2011, but it wasn’t to be. That experience haunted them for years, until this year. Took 51 years (Rangers first year of existence was 1972). Rangers fans are celebrating!

I would guess that there is a Rangers HOF at the stadium, and I would guess that you have been there. I was wondering if it includes any Senators memorabilia, or player info from those 10 years before they became the Rangers? Frank Howard's passing last week, just before the Series win, got me thinking about that.

I believe one of the Senators relocations was to the Rangers once upon a time.

Correct, the Rangers were the expansion version of the Washington Senators, originating (I think) in 1961, after the original Washington Senators packed up and moved to Minnesota, becoming the Twins.

Yes, there is a franchise Hall of Fame. It’s been a few years since I was there, but I recall a few HOF members were Washington Senators including Frank Howard, who was also a member of early Rangers teams. Tom Grieve is another - a Senator’s player who was a charter member of the Rangers, then after retirement as a player he went into team management, eventually becoming the GM and then for decades a Rangers broadcaster. He retired from broadcasting a couple of years ago. That version of the Senators franchise was a short-lived expansion team, and wasn’t very successful on the field. There were not many “stars” worthy of Hall of Fame recognition. I’m old enough to remember the old saying “Washington is first in war, first in peace, and last in the American League”. ::facepalm::

Re: the A's move to Las Vegas now being official

Like many of you out there, I can say that I have been around for the A's playing in all 4 cities, not that I remember the Philadelphia years. I suppose the move is a good thing overall, sad for what remains of the fan base in Oakland. Those teams of the 70's will always remain some of MLB's most colorful and popular. I used to try and see the A's at least once a year when they came to Comiskey. I never thought that the NHL would work out in Las Vegas, and I was wrong about that. Hopefully, the A's will achieve success on the field as well as financial well being.

Five years after retirement one of my all-time favorite players Adrian Beltre, is (finally) eligible for the MLB Hall of Fame. One of the handful of players in my lifetime that I would buy a ticket just to watch him alone. He had so much fun playing the game at which he excelled. It was fun to watch him!
