Thanks for the kind comments guys. I would sharpen it up and carry it except I would hate to wear off what remains of the blade etch.

Dan, that is one sweet EO!
I have some new deliveries, a Case drop-point Russlock in Blue Lagoon bone and that Tony Bose sowbelly in ebony. The sowbelly came with a Certificate of Authenticity in a clear sleeve. Also picked up a 100 pack of Case knife papers and a leather trapper belt holster. Then Case Knife Outlet included a Collector's Pocket Guide, information on the Case Collector's Club and a $5 per knife rebate form. Only problem with the rebate is you have to cut the UPC code off of each box, which I'm not inclined to do. I have purchased from these guys before and they keep a good shop. I'll post some more pictures in the Case Sowbelly thread.

Just picked up this sweet old Colonial the other day...it measures out at 4 1/4 inches closed, real close to a slim trapper in style. I love the blade especially, long nail pull, nice swedge, large amount of the blade available to grip with fingers to pull open, makes it kind of like an easy opener. Also appreciate that the scales are pinned, and the bolsters are too, making it a really solid knife, with no fear of the handle getting loose like happens with many Colonials...

On the ccc forum here is what katie shont wrote on the 5 doller rebate....Nice knives u picked up specially that ebony sowbelly
Here are the options:
If a consumer chooses not to cut the UPC label from the Case knife box, the following alternatives would be acceptable:
1. A photocopy or electronic image of the UPC label from the box that matches the UPC number indicated on the rebate form, along with an original sales receipt.
2. A UPC code which appears on the original sales receipt submitted that matches the UPC number indicated on the rebate form.

Nice bunch of knives guys

I gotta few knives in the mail this week. first up is a 1960 Utica tool kit from the AFL-CIO convention in St. Louis Mo. Next is a tool kit marked DRGM. And third is another DGRM marked tool kit in its leather pouch. Next is a Monarch scout. and Mercator K55 black cat! I love this knife been carrying it all week. Simple, inexpensive and solid! Next is pre 1900 Wostenholm Marlin spike. and last but not least is a Buck 870 that I have been useing for a couple of days and I just love it as much as the Mercator

All in all its been a good week!

Hey Jerry, love that half congress, great lookin' knife! You gonna carry it, or just fondle it affectionatley in the privacy of your own home? She sure is purty...Nice score.
Love the new AAPK shirt, you are looking pretty buff there my friend, fine fighting trim indeed.
The black, red and white is a cool color combo, easy to spot at a show!

Mike -- She goes in the safe with the rest of the queens to be taken out occasionally and ... Well you know, since no one is here but me...
Squirrel -- Let me just say this. Last week my buddies and I managed to score a three gallon container of Spumoni ice cream that's only sold to the restaurants and currently, apple pies are $1.99 each at Valley Produce. I'll let your imagination take it from there. I don't think even a Bee would have trouble connecting the dots in a scenario like that.

Squirrel, it's great to be an inspiration to someone.
I'm surprised you've never heard of Spumoni. It's origins are in Italy. Spumoni is the father of Neapolitan ice cream. Spumoni is the Italian flag. It has a green slab (almost always Pistachio with bits of pistachios in it), a pink slab (traditionally cherry with pieces of sweet cherries in it, usually Bing Cherries) and a slab of either chocolate or vanilla. Vanilla would be the traditional to stand in for the white in the Italian flag but chocolate is not an uncommon substitute.

Thanks fellas.
It was 100+ degrees here Friday, but a good day anyway. My new generator also arrived on Fri. We spent 43 hours without electricity last weekend. After hurricane Ike in 08 we were without power for 98 hours, and lost a freezer full of meat. Never again!

Bill, I could have used your generator in 2003. On 4th of July weekend that year, 80-100 mph straight line winds knocked out our power for several days. I lost everything in my refrigerator. Who knew a 25 cu.ft. side by side would hold a 55 gal barrel full of food.
