It's a recreation of one built there in 1851. My family got to the willamette valley even earlier in 1847.

Thanks guys. That's a special area. The town of Blue River burnt down a couple years ago but the reservoir is still beautiful.

Very nice, Scott!!

Wife and I went for another hike today. Did take this Remington along. This is in the Uwharrie National Forest in central NC. The Uwharrie Mountains (tallest is around 1188 feet) are possibly the oldest in the U.S. - more than 500 million years old - at least that's what I'm told. ::shrug::

That big rock you are sitting in front of in your last shot sortta looks like a man's head laying back with his tongue slightly out! ::shrug:: Way cool!
