Thatβs a good question. I like the thicker scales on the Izula 2 better. But as far as the knife itself, balance, etcβ¦ I prefer the ESSEE 3. The Izula 2 is just a bit too small and light for me for any kind of extended use.
If I were only going to have one it would be the 3 hands down.

Great shots, love the bones, the wheels, the desert background, the wood, rocks and stones. All good stuff to look at. Great blades too.

Thanks I-Man

Now I just need to buy a Beach house on the water (Malibu?) so I can also get the awesome "by the water shots"

This Hibben showed up to round out my collection of his Alaska themed knives.
So much for trying to downsize. I blame this one on Jerryd6818!
Seriously, all of the Gil Hibben knives in my collection are very well made with very nice fit and finish.

If I influenced you, I have no remorse. You are right. The few Gil Hibbens I've had have been well made & I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Here's an interesting little fixed blade I picked up recently. At 6 3/4" OAL (7" w/sheath), clip blade 3 5/8", it's about the size of what I would consider a "Bird & Trout". No markings to ID maker nor location of manufacture; however, the obviously hand-etched design on the metal scabbard/sheath, as well as the stag handle lead me to think maybe it was made in Toledo, Spain--

--but that's pure conjecture on my part (well, mine and the seller's, although he wasn't 100% sure of it's provenance, either). My friend thinks it looks more Arabic because of the etched embellishment, but the shape of the blade seems more European to me. Also note the double sabre grind, full-tang, dove-tailed stag covers, (uneven, but) double-pinned finger guard & hawkbill pommel/butt cap, which all scream "Handmade" to me...I just don't know where or by whom. It has a bit more heft to it than my stag Queen B&T. Fits snugly in the sheath. I really like it. Any thoughts/conjecture/expert opinions are welcome and encouraged.
