Recently added this A.G Russell stockman made in Springdale Arkansas in 1995. Stag handles and most likely carbon steel blades. I haven’t noticed any similarities between these and Queen or Camillus both of whom would make some knives for AGR. This one strikes me as one completely made by A.G.Russell in Arkansas. Rare bird in deed. Find it in my store Sharpnshinyknives .s

Love those thick slabs of stag .

Nice ones. I see you put these in a thread about outgassing also GSP. What a shame. I don’t allow celluloid in my collection for that very reason and seldom buy them for my store. It breaks my heart to see a great knife get like this.
I got these two in recently and added them to my store. Love looking at the Winchester 5 blade sowbellies.

That was a happy day.

...Although it might have been a little happier... I was trying to pick out some knives with bone scales in the group and I found some that it was hard to tell from Derlin/synthetic (I just had some cheater glasses with me)

but the prices were what you would pay for bone. So, I held back on several and then I bought a Case XX thinking it was bone and got it home only to realize it Derlin

... I needed the I-Man there to show me the way...

Mark it was a shame, a lot of nice old knives that had been mint, in the sleeves where the off gassing took place got "peppered" with spots of rust.

Mark, after you showed those two Winchesters I went to your store. First time in a while. Your store collection is superb, filled with an abundance of beautiful knives. Your vision is just getting better and better with age. Seriously, congratulations on such wonderful offerings.

Thank you for noticing Garry. I’ve been buying fewer knives lately but trying to focus on good looking knives of high quality. It’s probably the best looking line up of knives I’ve offered.

Diamond Edge #1023 Large Stockman sold by Shapleigh Hdwe Co. I'm guessing it was made by Schrade but I'm sure someone here knows.

I too am a fan of sowbellies. Couple of these are a bit worrisome to me. Dont know just what to do.

They are all gorgeous Rob, worrisome? Why? Is it the celluloid handled ones? Simple solution sell them. I don’t keep any celluloid in my collection no matter how pretty it might be. Too much potential for damage and collateral damage.

Handsome looking line up of knives. Very nice from either a colllector’s perspective or a user.
I’m getting ready to offer some of my EDC knives that I used for sale. Just wanting to add a special a.g. Russell stockman that Glennbad is currently building for me. With that I have about half a dozen that I will retire. My used EDC’s are still in excellent condition. I barely use knives for anything other than opening boxes, cutting paper and string. Not exactly hard work. No farm work cutting cutting on wood, metal etc.

That celluloid does make me nerous, I keep an eye on the 3 I have. No signs of anything going on, yet. I just hate the idea of dumping them.

Rob you will hate it more if they start outgassing and damage the blades and other knives. Gives you a sick feeling in your belly when that happens, I know.
