It's work related, believe it or not.

I've tried a few of these Barrell blends but this batch 036 was the only one that I purchased a second time.

The pocket knife is used for making a hole in the bottom of the can so you can shotgun it.



Do people really drink N.A. beer? Guinness makes one I have considered trying.

That's what Mr. Gibson said in his review of the "Beer Tender", and I ain't gonna argue with Tobias. Although I don't ever intend to use the pointed end of the cap lifter for designed purpose. I am definitely too old (and smart?) for that.

Yes, indeed people do drink NA beer. Guinnes 0.0 tastes almost exactly like Guinness Draught. Stella Artois makes a very good 0.0 ABV called Liberte. If you enjoy Heineken, their 0.0 is pretty good. And if you want to revisit your misspent youth, Pabst NA is pretty good. BrewDog has several NA versions of their regular brews and Athletic is a dedicated NA brewer that produces some good brew, the best of which is a Mexican style lager that is much better than Corona (and you don't need lime and salt to "enhance" the flavor.

I do also drink alcohol, as my 800+ entries on the BrewGene app (911 counting NA brews) will attest, along with my 161 spirit reviews on the Distiller app. I switched to NA on some days to decrease my alcohol intake. And I do still enjoy an occasional THC edible, so I am far from a teetotaler.

You have definitely redeemed yourself.

Bardstown has a few whiskeys in their lineup but this is the first one that is 100% Bardstown and not blended with other brands.

I toured the Bardstown distillery in May of 2023. This white label Origin wasn’t bottled yet but they gave us a sample straight from the barrel. I waited a few months for its release and it has been a staple in my liquor cabinet ever since.

This is a very good tasting bourbon. The reasonable price is just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

I’ve been a Benchmark drinker for a while. I prefer it to Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare. Just recently had my first bottle of Full Proof and was very impressed. Saving this second bottle to share with family Thanksgiving. Haven’t tried the Bonded yet and may save it to share as well.


Update Sunday 11/10: Got to try the Benchmark Bonded today. It is very good as well. These three could easily become my go to bourbons

Thanks, Ike. I got that knife several years ago from our friend, Mark (Sharpnshineyknives). I probably spelled that wrong.

The Dark Arts was pretty good. Just finished off that pour a few minutes ago. I’ve had better at a lower price but I did enjoy it and I’m looking forward to the next few pours. Will I buy it again? No. Not that batch anyway.

The main reason that I wanted to try this batch is because I had a different Dark Arts batch a year or so ago and I loved it. That batch is long gone and no longer available. The brand earned my trust enough to try another bottle. Their batches can be very unique which is what I was hoping for but this batch was just good bourbon. Nothing extraordinary like I had hoped for.

Hitting the sauce again tonight while my wife and I celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of our first date. Just for the fun of it, that was 8,395 days ago not including the extra day in leap years.
