Scott, I wish you did too. Have you tried gardening in pots? Not great but it might give you some satisfaction.

Pinko, Commie, bed wetting liberals. Ask them if they have ever met a crazed Viet Nam Veteran with an automatic weapon.

Jokin' folks. Just jokin'.

LOL......lol......rodl....

I know.....but if you let ONE do it, then.......you gotta let everyone do it.
It's like an apartment community in a 55+ community (I am technically not allowed to be here but my wife grandfathers me in).

No decks, no balconies......

BUT I do have access to the HUGE community pool and that my knife friends is worth it's weight in GOLD!!!

And of course, anyone over 55 should not be allowed around a planting pot. They might grow something. ::dang:: ::dang::

Samuel helping with the harvest....now if I could just get his taste buds to appreciate a nice vine ripened tomato as much as his daddy does... ::facepalm::

Patience me lad, patience. His taste buds will mature. When one of my grandsons was much younger, he would eat nothing that didn't have catsup on it but he's grown out of that now.

Edit: And then maybe not. When I was a kid, I didn't like onions, fish nor garlic and still don't. ::shrug::

I have to admit Jerry, that patience is not a trait that I am well known for. In my work life, I get paid for being impatient. A "sense of urgency" is so ingrained into my life that it is hard to shut it down unfortunately.

Kind of like those life coach people that say the key to a happy life is to "not sweat the small stuff'....while I can see that type of attitude leading to a life of contentment, "sweating the small stuff" is how I make my living.

About the only time I can be patient and not sweat the small stuff is when I am alone out in the woods, slows me right down and puts it all in perspective. ..guess that means I need to spend more time in the woods!

....and the Ghost Peppers have joined the party!

So I now have gown to maturity all three varieties of the "superhots" I planted this year...Chocolate Habaneros on the left, Ghost Peppers on the top and bottom, 7 Pot Peppers on the right, and the hottest of them all, the Carolina Reaper in the middle.

I don't know if I moved this quote from above correctly but It reminded me of something I read long ago:
"To grow a garden is to have faith in the future."
And that leads me to my favorite gardening quote:
"There's only two things that money can't buy
and that's true love and home grown tomatoes"
And ya know what, by golly I got 'em both.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...........my buddy Mike sent me some of those chocolate habanero peppers all ground up and in a little shaker. They are the hottest, most wonderful peppers I've ever been privileged to consume. Yes they make my eyes water a little, and definitely they make my sinuses open and flow, but they are magnificent in the flavor they add to the food I'm eating. Thank you Mike. That is good stuff my friend. ::tu::

Thanks Scott. Tough shot to get,she was struggling to hold up all them maters and I was struggling to get everything in the pic! She had fun chucking all the overripe ones out into the field, then got distracted by a fuzzy caterpillar...had to bring it up on the porch and make a little home for it in a Tupperware dish...
