Just pick up a new knife. This Old Timer 340, or is it 34 OT, has ,been through it it seems. Big o chip in the sheepsfoot and broken tip on the clip. The scales are marked up and the shield is missing. 
It kinda hurts to look at but I'll get it back in semi operational state.

Sadly I had to do the unthinkable to get them nice and operational. Cut off the bad part of the sheepsfoot and reshaped it and reshaped the clip. Someone bent the blade so I reprofiled them the best I could. Now I just need to sharpen em up and drop it in the pocket.

Nice effort on that Schrade, Josh. Some of my favorite EDC are knives that I reworked.
Here is a old Schrade that I like to slip into my pocket occasionally. It certainly is not what if used to be, but it still does anything I want to do in the garden.

How about this Cattaraugus sow belly for being beat to death and used up. It probably was quite the knife in its day. It is a #32029.

Possibly, needs a couple of blades. Picked up this half dozen Case for $5 each. One is missing a secondary blade, another (the Handyman Club of America) has a broken tip on the main, but for the most part they just need new covers in order to be useful once again.

As far as that Cattaraugus Sowbelly I pictured above, I am not the first one to do some work on it. After cleaning it up a little, one blade has a different tang stamp that is not Cattaraugus. Cant make it out, but looks like it ends in ING. The blade does not fold into the handle without colliding with the other blades.

When I hold an old, beat up knife, it is a very different feeling than when I have a brand new knife with no history. Well, I have a love affair with the Signal Corps, Electrician & TL-29 knives in ANY condition.
Top- Ulster with great snap on both blades & obviously the blade itself had snap.
Middle- Signal Corps. When I got it I thought the blade was broken off, but it is completely gone. I’m hoping to figure out who it’s made by & maybe find a donor knife & someone who can change the blade, cause it’s really in pretty good shape. And, it’s my first Signal Corps knife, been looking a long time for one.
Bottom- Challenge Cutlery. Actually in good condition except for front scale, which at some point I hope to find someone who can repair or replace it.
And, yes I know I am a terrible photographer. I am photographically challenged.

Found it, it is an Ulster and the screwdriver blade has the tang broken off. The spear blade is good though, maybe you can use it?

Found it, it is an Ulster and the screwdriver blade has the tang broken off. The spear blade is good though, maybe you can use it?
