Hi Aussie,
I looked for many years to find a Display Case to hold most of my Schrade knives.
It is six foot high - two and a half foot wide and about two foot deep - Three sides and the top is 6mm glass.
It has three glass shelves and six lights and power rails - one big sliding door with a lock like a bank.
I found it in a hardware shop and I think it must have been made to hold Top Priced Power Tools... Ken

Display cabinets are a bit like fish ponds , they can never be big enough , I bought this jarrah gun cabinet and put some glass shelves in it 6 months ago thinking this would do the trick (this photo was taken about 4 months ago). The 4th shelf down in this pic has case, canal street and others but i have had to move these to make way for more Schrades and now it's chocca's , and now i'm looking for another.Anyhow i got to put the brakes on for a bit cause now i got a wedding to pay for , All in all though I prefer my knives on display so i can see them and admire them , i mean why else would you collect them.......

Hi Aussie,
I see your 858OT is the same as the one I have in a brown box.
Most of them that I have seen, have the "Schrade+" stamped on the blade.
This is my other 858OT below, with the "Schrade +" stamping.
An old friend use to sell Schrade in Australia back in the late1990's.
He came to my house one day with a box of Schrade Tools and knives and gave them to me.
Lucky me; he never know I collected knives... Ken

Heh,
Catnip is in the mint family...it has certain properties that make cats act all crazy. Oh my, there is another related plant:
Cannabaceae (scientific name), is commonly known as the Hemp Family. Lamiales (scientific name) includes the Mint family.
I hope that helps clear up the ambiguity.
Anyway, to keep this on track with the Schrade category, last night on Craig Ferguson, the guest was Morgan Freeman and in the promo they showed from his upcoming film "The Magic of Belle Isle", I am quite certain that the knife the little girl shows Morgan is a Schrade 3OT.
Did anyone else see that?
Regards,
Russell

for some of us 1976 doesn't seem that long ago until you realise it's been 36 odd year's , and to find a knife that looks like it was made yesterday is a just a bonus .......

Latest one around here is this plain ole Copennoggin 89 Stockman.
Not sure why they call it that since it has no copen blade.
