I have added 4 more Navy Knives in the past year, or so. L to R, top to bottom......Schatt & Morgan, Schrade, Canton, and Simmons.

Charlie , when you mentioned the big and little rat tail it dawned on me that you may be referring to a file . Is that how the name rat tail bolster came about ?RobesonsRme.com wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:09 am MB;
Your knife has double rat-tailed bolsters! One big rat and one little rat drug their tails across those bolsters.
Here's a big Robeson 197 with bone handles, steel liners, butt cap and single rat-tailed bolsters.
Also Robeson's version of the WWI Navy issue knife.
